Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 412: Chapter 412 A Bowl of Plain Noodles

”I haven’t had dinner yet, and I’m starving. If you don’t mind, could you treat me to a bowl of Yangchun noodles?”

”Of course!” An Hao agreed without hesitation.

But what else could she do if she didn’t agree?

It wasn’t like she could let him take the hit for her for nothing, right?

Yan Ye smiled lightly at her words, stood up, took off his white coat, and casually picked up his jacket to put on: ”Let’s go.”

By the time they left the Anatomy Building, class had been over for quite some time. An Hao had not gone far when she ran into Gu Shuangshuang.

”An Hao, Qin Jian waited here for you for ages. I told him you were held up by the teacher and didn’t know when you would be back. He checked the time and said that if he didn’t leave, he would miss the last bus, so he left first. He asked me to tell you to eat well and study hard, and he will come back to see you in a few days.”

Thinking of Qin Jian’s departure, a little disappointment flashed through An Hao’s heart: ”I got it. Thanks, Shuangshuang!”

”What are you being polite for!” Gu Shuangshuang patted her on the shoulder and winked at her, ”Who are we, if not each other?”

After saying that, Gu Shuangshuang glanced at Yan Ye: ”Teacher Yan, how’s your hand?”

”It’s nothing serious.” Yan Ye shook his injured hand. ”It’s just a minor injury.”

”Good. That’s good! Let’s go, An Hao, you should head back to the dorm.”

”Shuangshuang, Teacher Yan hasn’t eaten yet. I’m going to have dinner with him, do you want to come along?”

Gu Shuangshuang quickly waved her hands: ”After seeing that bloody dissection, I have no appetite at all. It’s good enough that I’m not throwing up. You guys go ahead, I’m heading back to the dorm.”

”Alright then, I’ll see you back in the dorm later.”

After saying goodbye to Gu Shuangshuang, Yan Ye and An Hao left the school through the back door and headed straight for the noodle shop.

By the time they arrived at the noodle shop, it was already late, and the shop was about to close.

Yan Ye ordered a bowl of Yangchun noodles for himself and one for An Hao as well.

Although An Hao had eaten dinner, she didn’t dare to eat too much due to the evening’s anatomy class, fearing that seeing the bloody scene might cause her to throw up.

Fortunately, she hadn’t thrown up tonight, but the food had digested quite a bit in her stomach, making her somewhat hungry at this point.

So, she also picked up her chopsticks and started eating.

While eating, Yan Ye said to her, ”You are very attentive, and you focus well in class. You’re doing well in anatomy. I heard from Gu Shuangshuang that you applied all over to medical schools aiming for surgery? What made you willing to pick up the scalpel?”

”I can’t say exactly what made me want to. My original ambition was to go into cardiac surgery. But as to which department I’ll end up in, that’s hard to say. For now, I’m taking it one step at a time; being a doctor is my dream, no matter which department.”

”Good. Study hard, and if you do well in these five years, you can come and be my assistant after graduation!” Yan Ye said.

An Hao was excited at his words: ”Are you serious?”

After all, Yan Ye’s fame had echoed greatly around the school since her admission.

Being an assistant to Yan Ye would be such an honor.

”Of course! But you have to be qualified,” Yan Ye lifted his head to look at An Hao, who was nodding earnestly, and the corners of his mouth curled slightly.

The bowl of Yangchun noodles was quite large, and An Hao could only eat half before she was full.

She didn’t want to waste food, but her stomach simply had no more room.
