Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 404: Chapter 404 Dreaming Daydreams

”She’s not at a loss, they’re pretty decent,” Yan Luquan interjected from the side.

Yan Huan glared at Old Yan and said to Feng Yuzhi with a frown, ”I fell for them, but they didn’t feel the same about me! What good is that?”

”My daughter is so outstanding, and he still doesn’t appreciate her?” Feng Yuzhi adored her daughter to the extreme.

Yan Huan sighed, ”No matter how outstanding I am, I can’t overcome the fact that they are younger than me!”

Listening to the hidden message in Yan Huan’s words, Feng Yuzhi put down the kitchen knife in her hand, washed her hands, took Yan Huan by the hand, and walked toward the sofa in the living room, ”You need to tell me what you mean by that.”

”They have a fiancée!” Yan Huan declared.

”You’re still bothering him even though he has a fiancée!” When Yan Luquan said this, he couldn’t help but feel a pang of regret for Yan Huan, ”Qin Jian is an excellent prospect! His name is well-known in the military!”

”A fiancée? Is that for real? Old Yan, you should look into it. If there’s no certainty, let’s try to match Yan Huan with Qin Jian,” Feng Yuzhi said.

”Fine. How about tonight? Cook some good dishes, and I’ll invite the Ning couple over for dinner!” Yan Luquan suggested.

”Alright. And have them bring Qin Jian along too,” Feng Yuzhi added.

”Okay.”

....................................

Qin Jian received a phone call from Zhang Yun asking him to come home for dinner.

Although he had recognized his biological parents, they seldom spent time together because he lived in the military due to his job.

Since Zhang Yun called him, he decided to go home that evening.

Qin Jian bought some food and also brought back some things An Hao had made for him, planning to let his parents have a taste.

Upon entering the door, he saw Zhang Yun and Ning Yibin getting ready to leave.

”Dad, Mom, where are you two going?” Qin Jian casually asked.

Seeing her son, Zhang Yun was so delighted she couldn’t stop smiling, ”Your Uncle Yan invited us over. Your father and I have been waiting for you for quite a while, and we were just about to head out to buy some things.”

”Uncle Yan?”

”Yes, that’s Yan Huan’s father! The Deputy Commander of the military region! We have a pretty good relationship with them. Their daughter is also back and very happy, they invited our whole family over to visit! Old Yan made it clear, he especially hopes to see you there!”

Hearing Zhang Yun say this, Qin Jian felt some suspicions arise in his heart.

Going to the Yan family for dinner was not an issue, but thinking about the girl who kept bothering him and caused him a headache, Qin Jian couldn’t help but furrow his brows.

”What, you don’t want to go?” Seeing her son frown, Ning Yibin thought he didn’t want to go.

He was always a man of few words, and Qin Jian had a temper just like his.

He didn’t think this trait was good and didn’t want his son to be like that.

”No, it’s not that. If that’s the case, then I’ll go.” It was just a dinner after all; he could endure it for a while.

”That’s great! Let’s go!” Zhang Yun said happily.

The Yan family lived very close to the Ning family, both residing in the same compound, separated by just a small road.

In the evening, Ning Yibin and his family of three arrived at the Yan family home.

As soon as they entered, Feng Yuzhi’s gaze kept sweeping across Qin Jian’s face, looking at her potential son-in-law with fondness that only grew the more she looked.

Indeed, the boy was extremely handsome, with distinguished eyebrows and eyes, and an extraordinary bearing. He was clearly not an ordinary person.

If such a young man were to marry Yan Huan, wouldn’t their children be exceedingly beautiful?
