Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 398: Chapter 398: You Don’t Have to Waste Your Time with Me

”I know...”

Before Qin Jian could finish speaking, Yan Huan’s voice came from outside the door, ”Yo! Commander Qin, did you make auntie angry?”

Zhang Yun turned and saw that Yan Huan had arrived, quickly wiping away her tears, ”Huanhuan, why have you come?”

”I heard Commander Qin was injured, so I specially came to see him,” Yan Huan said as she placed a well-assembled fruit basket on Qin Jian’s bedside.

”Ah, it must have been Colonel Zhang who told you? Huanhuan, if you’ve come, that’s fine, but don’t tell your parents after you go back, okay?” Zhang Yun admonished her.

”Okay. I know,” Yan Huan replied cheerfully, sitting down beside Qin Jian, looking at him with concern, ”Commander, you weren’t careful. How did you end up like this?”

”I’m fine.” Qin Jian said with an indifferent expression and cold tone, knowing that Yan Huan had feelings for him, and he tried to distance himself from her as much as possible.

”Hey, Commander Qin, why are you so cold to me? Not to speak of anything else, it wouldn’t be too much to call you brother given our age and friendship,” Yan Huan didn’t like Qin Jian’s coldness toward her.

She really liked the way Qin Jian looked when he was affectionate; that’s how he looked when with An Hao, smiling with a twinkle in his eye, filled with adoration.

”That’s how I am with everyone. I’m very sorry!” Qin Jian became even more aloof.

Zhang Yun couldn’t help reminding Qin Jian as she saw Yan Huan’s face darken, ”Jianzi, I have a good relationship with your Uncle Yan’s family. Huanhuan means no harm in visiting you. Don’t be too cold.”

”Exactly, exactly!” Yan Huan chimed in.

”Since you’ve come to see me, you have seen me now, you can go. I’m busy with military affairs, and you needn’t delay your time here with me,” Qin Jian subtly issued a dismissal.

”It’s fine. I took leave today especially to come see you. I won’t leave just yet,” Yan Huan cheerfully said, picking an apple from the basket, ”I’ll peel an apple for you to eat!”

Qin Jian frowned, his gaze shifting toward Zhang Yun, intending to have her send Yan Huan away.

Before Zhang Yun could understand the meaning in Qin Jian’s gaze, a knock sounded at the door.

She had not yet moved to open the door when she saw a young man’s head poke in: ”Excuse me, is Qin Jian staying in this ward...”

An Ping hadn’t finished speaking when he heard Qin Jian call him, ”An Ping!”

”Brother-in-law!” Confirming it was Qin Jian, An Ping swung the door open and sauntered in, carrying a bunch of nutritional products, followed by An Shuchao.

Of course, all this money was earned by An Hao.

However, for Qin Jian’s health, An Shuchao didn’t mind spending a bit more.

”Brother-in-law?” Yan Huan turned her head to look at the young man from the village, guessing from his address that this must be An Hao’s brother.

Such affectionate terms used before marriage, truly vexing!

Yan Huan pursed her lips and said, ”I was wondering where Commander Qin could get such a young brother-in-law when he’s not even married.”

An Ping hadn’t been paying attention to Yan Huan, but when he suddenly heard her utter such an unfriendly remark, he instantly focused on her.

Just one look at this woman, and An Ping disliked her!

Based on a man’s intuition, An Ping felt that this woman must be his sister’s romantic rival!

Since she was a rival, he was not going to be polite!

Any woman who dared to compete with his An Hao for a man was unforgivable!

”Who are these two?” Zhang Yun listened to An Ping speaking, feeling certain they must be related to An Hao.

Qin Jian introduced them, ”Mom, this is An Hao’s father and brother.”
