Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 122: Chapter 122 Climbing Up Relations

”Fengfeng, this is your Aunt Zhang and Yueqin,” Li Junping introduced Qin Feng.

”Auntie, hello, Sister, hello,” said Qin Feng before immediately taking a seat next to Song Yueqin. She touched Song Yueqin’s clothing with a look of envy, ”This dress is very beautiful. I heard it’s quite expensive.”

After she finished speaking, without waiting for Song Yueqin to respond, Qin Feng leaned in close and inquired about the fragrance coming from Song Yueqin, ”It smells so good, is that Snowflake Cream? I’ll have my brother buy me a box too.”

Seeing that Qin Feng was very interested in her, Song Yueqin’s heart swelled with joy, ”Sister Fengfeng, I have an extra box at home that I don’t need, I’ll give it to you!”

”Really?”

”Really!”

”That’s great.” Qin Feng wasn’t the kind of person to be polite. It wasn’t her style to pass up a good deal, so as soon as Song Yueqin offered it, she immediately took the opportunity to ask for it.

The two young people were chatting enthusiastically here, while on the other side, Zhang Juyun and Li Junping finished discussing the matter of Qin Feng and Song Fei, and inadvertently brought up the affairs of the An Family.

”You know, the An Family is just unlucky. They’ve got the insensible wife of the village chief making trouble. I heard that she blocked their door this morning demanding money, which really angered the girl from the An Family. They were already poor, and now, after this commotion, they don’t have a single penny left. How are they supposed to live...”

”Is that so?” Li Junping thought of An Hao, and her heart ached with regret, ”I’ve seen An Hao, she looks alright and is quite sensible. It’s just a pity she was born in the wrong place.”

Upon hearing Li Junping talk about how An Hao was rescued by Qin Jian before the New Year, and then came over to bring candied hawthorns, Song Yueqin felt as if a myriad of flavors had spilled inside her heart. It was an unpleasant feeling.

No wonder, it turned out An Hao was so scheming, having already tried to make her presence felt in the Qin Family a long time ago.

It seemed she couldn’t afford to fall behind in the future. Thus, her smile deepened, and her attitude towards Qin Feng became even more enthusiastic.

Two days later, Qin Feng met Song Fei.

Upon meeting, Qin Feng’s heart sank considerably. Song Fei’s appearance was somewhat lacking compared to her own brother, Qin Jian; one was like the sky while the other the earth. Not to mention comparing to Qin Jian, even next to her younger brother, Qin Fen, Song Fei didn’t measure up.

Yet, upon seeing her, Song Fei was exceedingly satisfied and overjoyed, wishing he could marry her right then and there.

The Qin Family members all looked fairly attractive. Qin Feng’s looks couldn’t be said to be exceptionally beautiful, but she was certainly above average. Song Fei had long fancied Qin Feng, but he had always kept it to himself, not daring to speak out.

He worked in town and came back once a week. When he had nothing to do, he liked to loiter around Qin Family’s door, in hopes of bumping into Qin Feng and striking up a conversation with her.

Who would have thought that Qin Feng preferred to stay at home and not go out?

Therefore, Song Fei never had the chance to interact with Qin Feng. It was not easy for him to finally get Zhang Juyun to propose the match at the Qin Family, and when they agreed to let them meet, Qin Feng was indifferent towards him.

Song Fei returned home dejected, doubting that this match would succeed.

But remembering Qin Feng’s delicate and innocent appearance made his heart itch uncontrollably; no other woman caught his eye, only her.

After much consideration, Song Fei decided he must visit the Qin Family again, and thus he spent a good sum of money to make the trip.

Upon arrival, he happened to catch Qin Feng discussing the matter with Li Junping, ”Mom, I don’t like that Song Fei. He’s short and ugly, just looking at him makes me uncomfortable.”

”Would you stop it?” Li Junping scolded her daughter upon hearing her being so picky, ”Look at you, is there any girl in the entire village lazier or greedier than you? Sure, Song Fei isn’t much to look at, but can looks be eaten or drunk? The key is that he can earn money and doesn’t despise you. Marrying a husband like that who will cherish you, isn’t that enough?”
