The Deadly Hitwoman: The Heiress's Special Abilities

Chapter 802: Chapter 802: Xia Ji’s True Purpose (5)

Han Jing shook his head, ”We just found out as well. However, there’s one more thing you don’t know, which is that to refine the Shengxue Pearl, it requires the heart blood of 108 unmarried women as a catalyst. So, I’ve come to tell you this, be careful, or you might end up not even knowing how you die!”

Han Qingjue fell silent after hearing Han Jing’s words and then asked, ”So, you’re here to warn me?”

Han Jing: ”Let’s just say that.”

Han Qingjue raised an eyebrow, ”Aren’t you eager for my death?”

Han Jing nodded frankly, ”You’re right, I indeed can’t wait for you to die. That’s why I’m here to tell you how you might die. But don’t be too grateful, I just want you to die knowing the reason.”

Ling Xiang watched these two women exchange sharp words with a bewildered face, feeling confused. Clearly, it was all meant well, but how did it turn into something else when it came out of their mouths?

To avoid the two women getting into a fight or quarrel on the spot, Ling Xiang stepped up and shared his thoughts, ”Xia Ji must have found out we eavesdropped. She neither hid it from us nor stopped us from leaving. I think she doesn’t plan to target Lady Han, but we don’t really know her true intentions. So... I’ll stay in the Holy Maiden Palace for now. If I can uncover her real motives, I’ll let you know.”

Then he turned to Han Qingjue and said, ”If Xia Ji really plans to refine the Shengxue Pearl, it indeed would be highly dangerous for Lady Han to stay in the Holy Maiden Palace. It’s better to go back with Lady Su; with the Xia Clan Leader around, you should be much safer.”

Ling Xiang meant well, but the way he put it really hit a sore spot for Han Qingjue. To her, it sounded like an utter mockery.

So she immediately refused, ”No need. Do you think if Xia Ji really has any ulterior motives, she would let you know? Since she used me once, she might use me again. Otherwise, why would she deliberately leak information to make me follow?”

Ling Xiang frowned, ”Is Lady Han planning to pretend to comply and then extract information?”

Han Qingjue sneered, ”I’m not that kind-hearted; don’t think too much. Since everything that needs saying has been said, I’m going back. If you have more to discuss, take your time.”

After speaking, she turned and left.

Watching Han Qingjue’s departing figure, Han Jing shrugged and said to Ling Xiang, ”She was right about one thing. Xia Ji won’t specifically let you know what she truly intends to do. Xia Ji’s thoughts are too complex, beyond our grasp. Thank you for coming to tell me all this, and be careful yourselves!”

Han Jing, Ling Xiang, and Han Qingjue were not friends, but rather on opposing terms. So, for them to come and share the overheard information was already rare, even if they might have been manipulated by Xia Ji. However, Han Jing still felt it necessary to thank them.

Regardless, acting under Xia Ji’s nose is a very risky business.

This old witch’s mind is truly too hard to guess.

Ling Xiang said nothing, glanced at Han Qingjue who had already walked away, and said to Han Jing, ”I’ll escort you back.”

Han Jing shook his head, ”No need. That old witch can’t do anything to me, you better stick with Han Qingjue. In case that old witch loses her mind, it would benefit her if Han Qingjue really died.”
