The Deadly Hitwoman: The Heiress's Special Abilities

Chapter 733: Chapter 733: Not Worth the Trouble!

This Marquis has not been seen for years, and surprisingly, he looks even more spirited than before. Though a bit tanned, he appears to be just in his early thirties. Furthermore, with his naturally handsome looks, the previous despondency has faded away, giving him quite a dashing and chivalrous air.

After all, what man wouldn’t have such thoughts, right?

She may be older, but there are still plenty of charming and attractive maids at her residence who could well enough serve as his concubines!

Therefore, the way Lady Li looks at Han Siqu becomes all the more pitiful and full of tender affection.

It makes Su Yaogeng feel like her presence here is rather intrusive.

She simply plans to get up and make space for them, but before she can rise, Han Siqu speaks.

”I heard your son is now the Marquis of Qing’an?” Han Siqu suddenly comes out with this.

This Lady Li, along with her illegitimate eldest son, Han Siqu actually remembers.

It’s just that, to be honest, he has never been fond of remembering people’s faces, so if not for Lady Li leading such a big son in front of him crying, and servants previously reporting it, he might not have recognized them on the road.

Lady Li is a bit puzzled, not knowing why Han Siqu would say such a thing, but she instinctively nods: ”Yes, Marquis, the children and I truly miss you, we’ve been waiting for your return!”

She doesn’t dare say they’re waiting for Han Siqu to go back to the Marquis Mansion with them, especially since she’s not sure why Su Yaogeng, who usually doesn’t like to pay attention to Han Siqu, is sitting here now.

But Han Siqu raises an eyebrow and says, ”He is already the Marquis of Qing’an, doesn’t that imply I’m dead? So, you want me to cede the marquisate to him, let him continue as the big young master, and you continue as the concubine... Oh, maybe I’ll have a legitimate son, and the marquisate won’t concern your son anymore! If that’s what you’re thinking...”

Before he finishes speaking, Lady Li already turns pale and hurriedly says, ”Marquis, Marquis, what are you talking about? Of course, we wish you well. Today, today we heard of your return and came specifically to greet you. It’s truly wonderful to see you safe and sound. I, I suddenly remembered some affairs yet unresolved, so, so I won’t disturb the Eldest Princess and you from resting. I, I and Chong’er will head back now.”

Having said that, she hastily pays her respects to Su Yaogeng and Han Siqu, secretly tugs at her son’s sleeve, signaling him to leave quickly.

The current Marquis of Qing’an, Han Chong, also hurriedly bids farewell and follows her out.

The mother and son walk quickly all the way, only relaxing upon reaching outside the Princess Mansion. Han Chong still has a tense face: ”Mother, do you think Father really intends to take back the marquisate and have another legitimate son or something?”

Lady Li shakes her head vigorously: ”Impossible, absolutely impossible.”

Letting out a sigh of relief, Lady Li continues: ”Did you forget when we went in, the servants were packing things? I overheard them whispering, something about how the Princess wants to dismiss them and is planning to leave the capital. Oh well, initially I thought with your father’s return, we would finally have someone to rely on, but your father has never been dependable his entire life. Anyway, the property we were given is quite substantial. Now that you’re the Marquis, I don’t need to be a mere concubine anymore, but a proper Grand Dowager, so there’s no need to join in their chaos, it’s just not worth it.”
