The Deadly Hitwoman: The Heiress's Special Abilities

Chapter 639: Chapter 639: Where Did That Conclusion Come From?

Han Jing stared straight at Lan Ling and blurted out, ”Do you think maybe we’ve all been thinking in the wrong direction? Su Yu... perhaps hasn’t completely lost his memory?”

Lan Ling was so startled by her that he almost lost his footing, ”Where on earth did you come up with this conclusion, and why keep it from them?”

Han Jing lowered her head and continued drawing on the ground with a small twig in her hand, ”I’m just thinking, if Yun Feng went to the Hanwu Forest by himself, then he must have had a reason, a reason we can’t know. He treated Su Yu for half a year, yet didn’t pass on a shred of news to us, not even after he left. Don’t you find it odd? We could still think she was being threatened by Han Qingjue, but do you think he could be threatened by Han Qingjue?”

Lan Ling shook his head, ”Though that shameless woman is relentless, when it comes to matters concerning the boss’s life, he wouldn’t act rashly. So... indeed, she has no reason to make a move on Yun Feng. Even if Han Qingjue was strict during that time, Yun Feng wouldn’t have been completely unable to send us information.”

”That’s just it. So I always feel that maybe we’ve been wrong from the start. The ones who truly want to keep us in the dark are Su Yu and Yun Feng. They certainly have a reason not to let us know the truth. But if the matter they can keep from us is solely about the Soul Stabilizing Needle, and I think, if Yun Feng helped Su Yu remove part of the Soul Stabilizing Needle, then he shouldn’t have left Su Yu’s side. After all, should anything go wrong, Su Yu’s life could be in jeopardy.” Han Jing snapped the twig in her hand, ”Thus, I deduce that perhaps Su Yu hasn’t lost his memory, but he must have been affected by the Soul Stabilizing Needle. Otherwise, these years, he wouldn’t have stayed away from us.”

Han Jing recalled the words Su Yu spoke to her back then; he said to trust him, that he would definitely return to her side.

Also, when they met again, she said she didn’t know him, yet he smiled and said it didn’t matter.

Considering Su Yu’s cold and aloof nature, if they had never known each other, he wouldn’t merely express at first glance that he was instantly pleased by her.

Han Jing’s heart was beating a bit fast; the more she thought about these things, the more she felt many inconsistencies.

”Speaking of it... when we went to the Capital City, didn’t I go to Brother Xichen’s place that night to investigate the situation? When I went, I saw a shadow leaving. I felt it looked familiar, but the speed was so fast, I couldn’t make out who it was. You say... someone faster than me and unnoticed by me must be someone with a cultivation higher than mine, appearing at Brother Xichen’s place. Isn’t that quite strange?” Han Jing’s doubts made Lan Ling a bit unsettled as well.

Han Jing was surprised, ”Is there such a thing? Why didn’t you mention it at the time?”

Lan Ling scratched his head, ”Even if I told you, you’d surely think I was seeing ghosts. I thought I was just imagining things at the time, but now looking back, it really feels eerie. I genuinely can’t figure out who it was, but if there is such a person, it must be someone we know.”

So... he didn’t have to say much, Han Jing could also guess it pointed to Su Yu, because after all, there really aren’t many people connected to Lian Xichen.
