The Deadly Hitwoman: The Heiress's Special Abilities

Chapter 612: Chapter 612: Can We Still Be Together with Dad?

Xiao Xue nodded honestly: ”Yes, I originally... Mother, I really didn’t say anything, I, I was just accidentally discovered by Daddy, and he... he even sent me back.”

Xiao Xue wanted to say that she didn’t want Su Yu to bring her back, and that Su Yu had made her some delicious noodles, but... she simply didn’t have the courage to spill it all out. What if mother really punished her?

Han Jing glanced at the guilty little girl, but she wasn’t in the mood to hold her accountable.

Instead, she was wondering if Su Yu was suspicious of something now, remembered something, or if it was just the natural bond between father and daughter?

But Xiao Xue looked so much like Su Yu; he might be amnesic, not stupid. There’s no way he wouldn’t sense something was off.

Han Jing suddenly felt a headache; she must quickly find Yun Feng, or else, unable to make sense of the situation, she feared she’d go insane!

Han Jing patted Xiao Xue’s butt twice as if making a point: ”Remember what I told you, from now on you’re not allowed to secretly look for him, do you hear?”

Xiao Xue pouted at Han Jing and called softly, ”Mother~”

Looking at her expectant yet aggrieved expression, Han Jing sighed and pulled her into her arms: ”Xiao Xue, your Daddy once gave you a name.”

Xiao Xue immediately perked up with curiosity, looking up at Han Jing: ”Really? What name did Daddy give me?”

”Su Su.” Han Jing looked off into the distance as if recalling something: ”The ’Su’ in ’feelings’, so your name is actually Su Su.”

Xiao Xue was excited: ”Su Su? It’s much prettier than Xiao Xue! Mother, why did you change my name?”

Perhaps because of today’s chaotic emotions, or maybe because of Xiao Xue’s innocent and aggrieved look, which softened her heart, Han Jing decided not to keep it from her anymore. Telling her some things might be for the better. Xiao Xue was smart and might understand her hardships.

”When you were born, your blood was poisoned, and only by changing your blood could your life be saved. To ensure you grew up healthy, your Daddy exchanged his blood for yours. While his body was extremely weak, we encountered enemies and your Daddy was severely injured. That’s why your Daddy might not remember anything. Whenever he tries to think about the past, it becomes very painful. So Xiao Xue... Mother doesn’t want you to seek out your Daddy because thinking about those things is too painful for him. You don’t want him to suffer, right?” Han Jing’s voice was gentle, yet it made Xiao Xue’s lips tighten, and tears were about to fall.

Han Jing wiped her tears, gently patting her back.

After a long while, Xiao Xue quietly asked, ”Then can we still be with Daddy?”

Han Jing nodded: ”Yes, once we defeat the bad guys, we can be with your Daddy. So Xiao Xue, you must be sensible, don’t look for your Daddy, because if the bad guys find out, they’ll not only take you away but also cause trouble for your Daddy. Just wait a little longer, after we’ve driven away the bad guys, we’ll bring your Daddy back, and we won’t be apart again, okay?”

Xiao Xue’s tears fell silently, yet she held back her sobs, tightened her lips, and nodded firmly.

Han Jing wiped her tears again, then reached out to tousle her soft hair, whispering: ”Good girl, trust Mother, that day will surely come.”
