The Deadly Hitwoman: The Heiress's Special Abilities

Chapter 499: Chapter 499: News of Su Yu

Another week passed, and Yun Feng still hadn’t returned, nor was there any news from him.

Han Jing told Su Yaogeng and An Chuxue about her plans to go to the Ghost Realm. They both understood her determination—waiting idly was not an option for her. So, when Han Jing decided to go to the Ghost Realm, they did not oppose her.

An Chuxue naturally decided to go with Han Jing. Although she longed for a peaceful life, after everything that had happened, she understood that in this world, where the weak are preyed upon, staying in one place would only make her a burden. She didn’t aspire for great achievements in the future; she just hoped not to become a burden to them.

Su Yaogeng, even though she wanted to leave with Han Jing, no longer had the fighting spirit of her youth. If she followed them, she might not only be unable to help, but also become a burden, so after careful consideration, she decided to stay in Hanjing City. Once Han Jing and the others resolved everything, she planned to join them again, though she was somewhat reluctant to part with Xiao Xue.

Because of this, Su Yaogeng felt a bit disheartened these days.

An Chuxue was also a bit uneasy since there had been no news from Yun Feng.

The news they got from the Ghost Ancestor about the Spirit Flame Sect was chaotic. The word had somehow spread that Yun Zidu was trapped in the Delusion Void Array, causing panic throughout the sect. The designated successor, Su Yu, had also disappeared without a trace. The elders were embroiled in a dispute over who should become the Sect Leader, and in just a few days, the once-greatest sect in the Spirit Cultivation Realm was in complete disarray.

It wasn’t until the day before their departure that Lan Ji returned, gravely injured and barely clinging to life.

”Madam, our master is still alive.” The first thing Lan Ji said upon seeing Han Jing was to tell her that Su Yu was still alive.

Han Jing, however, felt no relief—seeing Lan Ji’s severe injuries, something had clearly gone wrong. Using her superpower, she immediately started healing him while saying, ”Don’t worry, take your time to explain.”

Lan Ji took a while to gather his strength, then continued, ”We first returned to the Yun Family, but despite such major events occurring, the Yun Family hadn’t received any news at all. The Misty Fairy had once returned there, claiming to have found a way to save her husband and stating that she needed to leave for a while. It was only later that news of Sect Leader Yun’s disappearance spread, and Misty Fairy also vanished. Although the Yun Family is close to the Spirit Flame Sect, their bond mainly relied on Sect Leader Yun and Misty Fairy. Now that both are missing, the Spirit Flame Sect is in chaos, and the Yun Family is powerless.”

”And what about you? What’s your story? Where’s Yun Feng?” Han Jing inquired.

”We learned that Misty Fairy had also gone missing and realized this was premeditated by someone. So, we returned to the Spirit Flame Sect, which was in utter chaos. After much effort, we found out that Han Qingjue had once sought out Misty Fairy. Worried about unforeseen events, Yun Feng sent Lan Lan ahead to search for Misty Fairy elsewhere, while instructing Lan Mu to stay at the Spirit Flame Sect to continue gathering information. The two of us went to Beihan Palace. The Palace Master of Beihan Palace was severely injured due to the backlash from the Beiming Pearl’s disappearance and wasn’t in the palace. Han Qingjue was in charge and ordered not to let us enter Beihan Palace. We had to exert great effort to meet her, and it was there we found our master.”
