The Deadly Hitwoman: The Heiress's Special Abilities

Chapter 383: Chapter 383: Han Jing’s Thoughts

Han Jing thought, perhaps because she has always been a cold-hearted person, she didn’t believe that her charm alone could make Su Yu, a man as perfect as the Heavenly God, fall for her at first sight, to the point of cherishing another man’s child in her belly as if it were his own.

So she had a suspicion from before that perhaps on that night in the Mudan Pavillion of Baihua Garden, the person who had relations with her was none other than Su Yu himself. And the child in her belly was also Su Yu’s. If that were the case, then even if Su Yu married her and treated her so well, it could all be explained.

In everyone’s descriptions, Su Yu was always a person who was detached and especially disliked women. Han Jing wasn’t foolish; without sufficient reason, how could a man who disliked women like Su Yu be so good to her?

Another point that made her feel very strange was that her mother loved her so much, and originally believed firmly that Su Xingqiao was the most suitable match for her. After one meeting with Su Yu, her mother completely changed her mind. Her mother knew Su Yu’s past and was aware of his aversion to women; under such circumstances, no matter how good or perfect Su Yu was, her mother would not easily agree to this marriage.

So there must be some reason that convinced her mother that Su Yu would treat her well.

But now all of this was just her speculation. She didn’t know why Su Yu was hiding things from her, nor what parts of all this were things she couldn’t know now. But that her mother kept silent and Su Yu carefully arranged things meant that there must be something she couldn’t know at the moment.

So no matter what Han Jing speculated, she wouldn’t show the slightest bit of it now, nor would she give away any hint that might let Su Yu and others discover her bold guesses.

As for the real truth, Han Jing thought, perhaps once the child was born, everything would become clear.

But whether for herself, the child, or everyone’s peace, she needed to eliminate all obstacles as much as possible. She had a child to care for, and within a short period, she must ensure that Hanjing City and the entire Nanyao Country provide her a stable life.

Han Jing’s words plunged everyone into silence.

For An Chuxue, she never thought deeply about such things, but now that Han Jing mentioned it, she realized the peace they now had was really just on the surface. If it were truly as Han Jing said and the Crown Prince ascended the throne intending to eliminate dissent, they would indeed suffer.

As for Yun Feng, he wouldn’t consider these matters, for they had nothing to do with him whatsoever.

For Su Xingqiao, he truly didn’t want to compete for the throne. He despised the Imperial Palace and had extremely thin relationships with the emperor and his brothers. He had no foundation in court and didn’t want to partake in the fight for succession. He only wished to return to the Northern Land, continue to guard its peace, and fulfill his own value.

But Han Jing was right; now it wasn’t about whether he wanted to or not, but reality had forced him to have no choice but to think about it.

He could retreat entirely; even if he wasn’t a Prince or the Commander of the Northern Land, he could just leave all behind. But what about those brothers who followed him for years and fought alongside him? They had deep bonds with him. If he left, how could it not affect them?
