Stronger by Paying Salaries and I Have 1 Billion Employees

Thus, while He Dingyou’s trip to Xucheng was ostensibly to attend the new product launch, he was really there to learn from the masters and, if possible, discuss a potential partnership with Orange Technology.

Of course, Chen Yansen wouldn’t underestimate He Dingyou. ZTE, like Huawei, was fundamentally a giant in the telecommunications industry.

Their lackluster performance in the mobile phone business didn’t mean the company as a whole was weak.

ZTE had a rich history and deep expertise in wireless communications, the Internet of Things, optical transmission, and wireless charging. There was no telling when Orange Technology might need to partner with them.

It’s always better to make a friend than an enemy.

Moreover, the widespread adoption of the Orange Z1 Instruction Set and Aurora Future OS depended on support from others in the industry.

Smiling, Chen Yansen led He Dingyou to a seat in the front row.

”Hisilicon bought an architectural license for the Orange Z1?” He Dingyou asked eagerly the moment he sat down.

”The Huake Science Association and Apple bought one too,” Chen Yansen said casually.

”Which Apple?” He Dingyou pressed, a flicker of shock in his eyes.

”Apple,” Chen Yansen replied with a smile.

”How does the Orange Z1 Instruction Set’s encoding efficiency and power efficiency compare to ARM’s?” He Dingyou asked curiously.

”Its encoding efficiency is 1.4 times ARM’s, and its power efficiency is about 30% better,” Chen Yansen stated frankly.

He Dingyou’s eyes went wide. His first reaction was disbelief.

’If ARM’s CPU architecture was that simple, would companies like Qualcomm, Broadcom, Apple, Huawei, and ZTE still be dutifully paying ARM royalties every year?’

’But on second thought, the people at Hisilicon, Apple, and the Huake Science Association aren’t fools. And Chen Yansen doesn’t come from a powerful family, so there’s no reason these three would hand over money for nothing.’

’Unless!’

’The Orange Z1 Instruction Set’s encoding efficiency and power efficiency truly were superior to ARM’s. That had to be what convinced Hisilicon, Apple, and the Huake Science Association.’
