CEO's Reborn Wife

”Then accompany Dad and have a good time for a few days. When his vacation ends, buy a ticket and come back,” James Black listened to Jane Sampson’s cheerful response on the other end of the phone, hesitated for a moment, and called out to the woman on the line.

”Jane Sampson.”

”Huh?” Jane Sampson was about to hang up.

”Think of me often when you have nothing to do, isn’t it sad being alone?” Even James Black felt sorry for himself.

It did sound quite miserable, but...

”Is this your first time being alone?” Jane Sampson laughed a bit unfairly.

James Black chuckled, using his big move, ”Come back early, I’ll take you to eat hotpot.”

Jane Sampson’s giggling suddenly stopped.

A few seconds later, she quickly agreed and reminded James Black not to go back on his promise!

James Black knew that no matter how many instructions he gave to Jane Sampson, or how much he played the pity card, it was not as effective as promising to take her for hotpot.

Ha, woman.

After hanging up the phone, Jane Sampson returned to the house where the atmosphere was lively. Seeing Jane come in, Father Carter asked, ”What did James Black say? Is he mad at you?”

Father Carter really seemed to be trying to stir things up.

”He’s not mad at all. He said he’ll take me to eat hotpot when I get back!” Jane Sampson replied joyfully, ”James Black is wonderful; he told me to spend quality time with Daddy.”

Everyone understood the underlying meaning of Jane Sampson’s words.

This hotpot seemed to be the carrot James Black used to lure Jane Sampson back to Capital Province.

”You don’t necessarily have to go back to Capital Province to eat hotpot. After your daddy’s vacation, let your mother and brother take you. While you don’t have work, enjoy and have fun,” said Father Carter.

James Carter, sitting there with curved eyebrows, smiled.

”Alright, stop teasing Jane. If her heart really gets stirred, see how anxious James Black will become in Capital City,” Granny Carter felt very fulfilled having been able to live with her granddaughter for such a long time.

Jane Sampson wasn’t dignified, but she was generous, loved lively situations, had a good temper, could focus on learning when needed, had great patience, and was willing to accompany the elderly.

This was the best way Granny Carter saw her granddaughter.

”You’ve gained so much weight already, still eating?” Coco Edwards reached out, pinched Jane Sampson’s cheek, ”Jane, you really need to start controlling your food intake.”

After speaking, Coco Edwards laughed a bit mischievously, ”You finally have this day.”

Previously Coco Edwards was chubby, and every time Jane Sampson sneaked snacks, Coco had to endure Jane’s taunts of ’I don’t gain weight.’ Later, an incident caused Coco to lie in the hospital for a long time, followed by extended recovery at home, which helped her lose weight.

After finally slimming down, Coco Edwards didn’t want to gain it back, and she was mentally exhausted, calculating her caloric intake every day to maintain her current figure.

”I don’t eat meat; even when eating hotpot, I don’t eat staple food. I only eat vegetables,” Jane Sampson was determined to maintain her welfare, which was her last pursuit of delicious food before officially starting to diet.

After her parents and brother arrived, Jane Sampson didn’t go out every day anymore, spending more time at home accompanying the seniors.

Though it wasn’t Chinese New Year nor any festival, the Carter Family was bustling like it was the New Year.

With Father Carter rarely on vacation, he stayed home playing mahjong with the parents, and Jane Sampson’s luck was extraordinarily good, winning an entire table of money in half a day.
