CEO's Reborn Wife

James Black glanced at Jane Sampson, who shifted from fierce to endearing in a second, shook his head, and bent down to tidy up her luggage. A minute later, James realized something was off with Jane.

She had been on the phone for such a long time but, after saying just one word, hadn’t spoken again.

James walked over to Jane, turned her body around to face him, glanced at her expression, and asked, ”What happened?”

Jane quickly made a shushing gesture towards James, her face still frozen in shock.

After another ten seconds or so, Jane spoke to her mother on the phone, ”Mom, don’t worry about me, both you and dad can rest assured. I know you both love me very much, so I won’t be upset or secretly sad because of this.”

Jane comforted the somewhat worried Gwendolyn Young on the other end, ”Mom, I also think that dad makes sense. Listen to him, do as he says. First, get a doctor to check on her, and tomorrow when I arrive, I’ll go with you to see what’s really going on with her.”

”Alright, then mom will pick you up at the airport tomorrow and then take you to see Jillian Carter with the doctor.” Gwendolyn Young relaxed after hearing Jane’s tone was indeed without discontent.

Gwendolyn thought about it and found it unsurprising; Jane is Jane, a particularly sensible girl.

She and her husband were completely scared by Jillian Carter’s previous personality. If it were Jillian Carter in this situation, after hearing all this, she might really be upset and lose her temper, thinking her parents broke their promise.

”Then mom will go with your brother to pick you up at the airport tomorrow.” Gwendolyn laughed, ”Knowing you’re coming back, your brother said he also wants to go to the countryside for inspiration. He just wants to mooch a meal, your cooking skills are remembered by your brother.”

Jane chatted with Gwendolyn for a few more words before hanging up the phone.

James was getting anxious, ”What did mom say to you? Who needs to see a doctor?”

”Mom said just now that Jillian Carter seems to have mental issues.” Jane still found it incredible.

”Mom said Jillian Carter thinks she’s me and is treating a doll as her and Joseph Shaw’s child. Recently, she’s been going to the entrance of the base, holding the ’child’ and looking for Joseph Shaw. Dad’s friend called dad and mentioned this matter, so dad and mom discussed wanting to find a doctor to see if Jillian Carter is truly insane or just pretending.”

After saying this, Jane fell silent.

Over a month ago, Jane had seen Jillian Carter living a seemingly relaxed life, shopping every day according to her Twitter.

Unexpectedly, without following her for a short period, she suddenly encountered this situation.

”I’ll make a call to inquire.” James said as he took out his mobile phone and called a friend who had been at the same base as Joseph Shaw.

A few minutes later, James hung up and went on WhatsApp, then received two photos.

The first was a signature Jillian Carter forcibly gave someone.

The handwriting on it was very similar to Jane Sampson’s.

The second photo showed Jillian Carter holding a doll, staring eagerly in the direction of the main gate. In the photo, Jillian Carter was wearing an outfit Jane had previously worn in a street photoshoot, even the hairstyle was identical.

The friend also sent a voice message, which James opened.

”Jillian Carter’s current state is visibly truly insane, if it were fake, after pretending for so many days, it wouldn’t be possible without a single flaw.”
