CEO's Reborn Wife

”Which one do you want to eat? Spicy strips? Or these marinated claws? I’ll put back what you don’t eat. Although my mother pretends not to know, we can’t make it too obvious.”

”Give me the jelly, I don’t want anything else.” Jane Sampson shook her head, just about to reach for the jelly when her mobile phone suddenly rang in her pocket.

”Answer the phone first, I still have some other stuff hidden inside that I can take out for you to choose.” Nina Rice bent over and continued rummaging, ”James Black doesn’t let you eat spicy strips, so you don’t eat them? You are truly well-behaved.”

Jane Sampson stuck out her tongue.

Took out the mobile phone for a look, it turned out to be Jillian Carter calling.

Seeing Jane Sampson holding the phone and just looking without answering, Nina Rice glanced at Jane Sampson, ”Could it be your Daddy Black calling you? Just so coincidental, mentioning him and he calls?”

Jane Sampson shook her head, ”It’s Jillian Carter.”

Nina Rice immediately stood up upon hearing this.

Her eyes stared intently at Jane Sampson’s phone, as if she was going to do something to Jillian Carter through the phone.

”Are you going to answer it? Hurry up and answer to see what trick she’s up to.” Nina Rice urged Jane Sampson.

”I talked about the company matters with my brother last night and asked him to remind her.” Jane Sampson told Nina Rice about the phone call with James Carter last night, ”So, I don’t know what Jillian Carter is calling me about at this time.”

However, Jane Sampson was very certain about one thing.

”She definitely isn’t calling to say thank you, there’s no way she’s calling to thank me for sparing her West Crossing.” Jane Sampson shrugged.

Thus, Jane Sampson was contemplating whether or not to answer the call.

”I think your guess is correct. A person like her doesn’t even know how to write the word ’thank’. The word ’thank you’ doesn’t exist in her dictionary. The Carter Family raised her, and she still doesn’t know how to be grateful, let alone with your case.” Nina Rice agreed with Jane Sampson’s guess.

”So, quickly answer it to see what nonsense she plans to say.” Nina Rice closed the drawer, then sat next to Jane Sampson, waiting for her to answer the phone, saying, ”Turn on the speaker so I can listen to what she’s going to say, I won’t talk.”

Jane Sampson originally didn’t plan to answer, but seeing how Nina Rice was pressing, she answered.

”Hello.”

As soon as the call connected, Jane Sampson said hello and then heard Jillian Carter’s laughter.

That kind of laugh, very light, a couple of cold chuckles, with a hint of contempt.

”Jane Sampson,” Jillian Carter called Jane Sampson by her full name, ”Are you just waiting for my West Crossing’s directly operated store to open, and then find the media to expose my West Crossing for plagiarizing some obscure little online store? Jane Sampson, I really underestimated you, I never expected it, a designer who left from me to finally side with you.”

”So, what do you want to say?” Jane Sampson asked in a calm tone.

”I have never understood, and I still can’t figure out, what exactly is so good about you, Jane Sampson? How are you, Jane Sampson, better than me, Jillian Carter? Why is everyone siding with you? Why does everyone say you’re good, Jane Sampson? Now, even the designers who left from me finally support you, help you do things, help you turn around and design against me! Jane Sampson, are you recently very pleased with yourself? Enjoying waiting for my West Crossing to fall into your hands, waiting to see the day when I, Jillian Carter, cry my heart out?”
