CEO's Reborn Wife

”It’s nothing, after sitting for a day, it’s good to stand and stretch a bit.” James Carter raised his hand to rub Jane Sampson’s head, ”Mom and Grandma knew I was coming to Capital Province today, so they specially prepared a lot of food for you. These glutinous rice dumplings were made by Mom and Grandma, with dried scallops, very fragrant. And these seafood, Mom and Grandma also specifically mentioned them.”

James Carter traveled by airplane. His own luggage wasn’t much, mostly it was stuff to bring to Jane Sampson.

”Mom and Grandma also asked me to come and check your hand, but it’s too cold here, so let’s wait until later.” James Carter withdrew his hand from Jane Sampson’s head and put it back in his pocket. After hesitating for a few seconds, he asked, ”Jane, can I ask you a question?”

”Brother, go ahead.” Jane Sampson nodded.

”I heard that Chip Family’s people recently approached Jillian Carter and took quite a bit of money from her. Jillian Carter complained that you were the one who told the Chip Family about her...” At this point, James Carter paused, instinctively glanced at Jane Sampson but didn’t continue to speak.

”Brother, are you asking if I was the one who led the Chip Family to Jillian?” Jane Sampson picked up the question James Carter hadn’t asked.

James Carter nodded.

Perhaps noticing a hint of emotion in Jane Sampson’s eyes, James Carter was worried Jane Sampson might misunderstand, so he quickly spoke again.

”At first, I wanted to ask you, but now I don’t want to anymore.”

James Carter smiled gently at Jane Sampson, ”Jane, although we haven’t known each other for long, I feel like I should understand you somewhat, so I feel like I shouldn’t ask you this question.”

”Brother?” Jane Sampson’s eyes showed a bit of surprise.

”Jane, I should trust you, even if you did do it, there must be a reason for it. You wouldn’t do something like that without cause.” James Carter’s tone was very certain, ”Even if it was your doing, Jillian Carter must have been wrong first for you to seek revenge. If Jillian was wrong, it’s only right for you to retaliate.”

”So, I’ve decided not to ask you this question anymore. This question is really meaningless, asking it would only make you sad.” James Carter gave a comfortable smile, ”Let’s leave it at that. People should pay the price for their actions. This way, it’s good, you shouldn’t be bullied.”

It’s not true to say she wasn’t touched.

In James Carter’s words, there was complete trust in her.

A deep, unwavering trust in her.

Jane Sampson was very moved, holding a large bag of things in her hand, she rushed into James Carter’s arms and hugged him, calling out, ”Brother~”

”Silly sister.” James Carter affectionately patted Jane Sampson’s head, ”At first, it was my mistake, I almost hurt you. Even if you’re mad at me, it’s understandable.”

”I’m not mad.” Jane Sampson shook her head, ”But I don’t want to lie to you either. The Chip Family incident was my doing, but you guessed right, Jillian Carter provoked me first. I was very angry, so I retaliated.”

”Are you relieved now?” James Carter, hearing that Jane Sampson was very angry, was at this moment also feeling sorry for Jane Sampson.

Jane Sampson has a good temper. If it wasn’t something that really violated her bottom line, Jane wouldn’t retaliate, nor would she tell him she was very angry.

”I’m relieved.” Jane Sampson snorted, ”I felt relieved after I retaliated.”
