CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 2197: Chapter 2205: Your Legs Are Short

He also hopes the company runs smoothly, so Jillian Carter has something to do and can focus on her work.

Jane Sampson sat there smiling, listening to the conversation among the seniors. She knew why Brooke Black brought up the matter in front of the Carter Family and why Old Master Black specifically mentioned the cooperation to Father Carter.

It was just to lift this burden from her shoulders.

If Jillian Carter learned that she also started a clothing company and caused a fuss, claiming it was an intentional rivalry, the Black Family could say Jane Sampson was unaware at first, and the company was James Black’s idea, a marriage commemorative gift prepared for Jane Sampson.

The company’s operations are also managed under Black Clan.

In the future, if the two companies compete, Brooke Black can also say that the matter is unrelated to Jane Sampson, and she is not informed.

Brooke Black and Old Master Black preemptively isolated all possible accusations from Jillian Carter.

Protective nature, surely runs in the Black Family.

Everyone knows that James Black established JSY just to clean up Jillian Carter, but no one mentions it, just acting like it’s a gift he thoughtfully gave Jane Sampson.

Whether the Carter Family can see through this doesn’t concern the Black Family.

If Jillian Carter doesn’t provoke Jane Sampson, James Black won’t do anything to her. But if Jillian Carter continues to act out in the future, no one can protect her from what James Black might do.

”No business talk at meals, let’s eat.” Father Gingery waved his hand like he was tired of business matters, ”Aren’t you busy enough at the company all the time? Rarely get to relax and play, and you’re still worrying?”

After speaking, Father Gingery poured a cup of tea for his wife, ”Have some tea, conserve energy, we’ll be seeing the waterfall in the afternoon.”

Father Gingery sidetracked the conversation, and for the rest of the time, everyone chatted while looking at the photos Jane Sampson took early in the morning.

Besides the two families, the camera mostly featured James Black.

After seeing a few, even Old Master Black got tired, flipping through photo after photo of James Black’s stony face.

Annoyed.

”Let James Black take a few pictures of you this afternoon. If he doesn’t take good ones, or you don’t like them, make him retake them until you’re satisfied.” Old Master Black handed the camera back to Jane Sampson with a reminder.

”Alright~” Jane Sampson agreed cheerily.

After eating, James Black purposefully refilled the thermos and held Jane Sampson’s hand to catch up with everyone.

They only walked from the mountain peak downwards, making a round, as if they hadn’t walked much, and the roadside scenery gradually changed.

The jungle’s trees gradually became taller and denser, towering trees standing among them.

Jane Sampson took out her mobile phone and waved it in front of James Black, ”Look, I’ve walked over ten thousand steps already!”

James Black glanced at the activity tracker on Jane Sampson’s phone, gave a nod, pretending not to see Jane Sampson’s expectant look for praise.

He reached out to take her phone and put it back in her pocket, advising her to not play with the phone while walking.

”I’m saying, I’ve already walked over ten thousand steps!” Jane Sampson repeated the number, ”Over ten thousand steps!”

”That’s because your legs are short.” James Black replied with a hidden smile to Jane Sampson, ”For every step I take, you take two, so you’ve walked over ten thousand steps.”

Jane Sampson gasped and stopped in her tracks, glaring at James Black, ”Say that again?”

Conversation ender, James Black.

The strongest in the universe.

James Black ruffled Jane Sampson’s head, ”I’ll massage your legs when we get back in the evening.”
