CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1887: Chapter 1895: Helping You, Right?

”So, have you decided what you want to do?” Jane Sampson curiously asked.

If she hadn’t known Jillian Carter before, seeing her today, Jane Sampson might really think Jillian Carter was just such a lively and cheerful person.

Jillian Carter nodded, ”I’ve decided, I want to create my own clothing brand, start my own clothing company, and make it big, with the most traditional elements from our country.”

Jillian Carter chatted enthusiastically the whole way, and Jane Sampson, who thought the evening might be awkward, found that from the time they were on the road until they sat down to eat, Jillian Carter hadn’t stopped talking.

James Carter isn’t the type to interrupt, so with Jillian wanting to talk, Jane Sampson was willing to listen.

The dishes were on the table, all light dishes, but they were colorful, fragrant, and flavorful.

”I heard from Brother that you were born prematurely, not reaching full term in mother’s belly. Lately, you’ve been filming and drinking Chinese medicine to recuperate every day. Brother said you have a weak stomach and spleen, so you need to eat some light, nutritious food. That’s why I ordered these dishes that I think you can eat and might enjoy. Jane, look, if there’s nothing you like, just take the menu and add more. We’re all family, so please don’t be shy about it.”

Jillian Carter placed the menu next to Jane Sampson and said, ”Brother and I usually prefer heavier flavors, but that’s okay. We’re eating with you today and can try the dishes here; it’s good to change things up occasionally.”

Jane Sampson glanced at the table of dishes, just three people, but Jillian Carter ordered seven dishes and two soups. Jane Sampson smiled and waved her hand, not touching the menu, and cheerfully said there was no need.

”Alright then.” Jillian Carter placed the menu aside, turned to continue the topic with James Carter that they were discussing earlier, ”Brother, about what I mentioned on the road—I’m serious about starting a company. I talked to Joseph Shaw, and he supports me. You know how I tend to spend money lavishly, so I basically have no savings.”

Speaking of which, Jillian Carter bashfully smiled at Jane Sampson, ”Jane, don’t laugh at me in your heart. I’ve never worried about money since I was young, so with daddy, mommy, and brother pampering me, I never had the mindset to make, save, or manage money. Money comes into my hands and goes out just as fast—that’s my bad habit. But I’ve decided, I’m going to change.”

”I get what you’re saying.” James Carter had listened to Jillian Carter’s detailed plan for the company on the road earlier, and even he was a bit surprised.

It was unexpected that Jillian Carter would do so much preparation before doing something this time. It was clear she was seriously planning to do one thing right this time.

”By the way, Jillian, did Joseph Shaw help you with this plan?” James Carter suddenly remembered and asked.

”Yes, otherwise, with my limited knowledge, you know how it is, Brother.” Jillian Carter, a little embarrassed, shifted her sitting position, ”He even said he wanted to invest in me, asking how much startup funding I needed, and he would give me that amount. But I didn’t agree.”

”Brother, although Joseph Shaw and I are husband and wife, if I rely entirely on him to fund my company, wouldn’t that mean I’m just helping him open a company? And when the company is up and running, I’d have no confidence in my own words. I don’t want that; I’ll only take a small portion of his funds. The rest, you and daddy and mommy absolutely have to support me.”
