CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1885: Chapter 1893: Don’t Compare Yourself to a Pig

It’s been so long since he’s seen her, even if James Black remembers, he can’t bear to tidy up after her.

”I’m leaving Capital Province this afternoon for a while, going out on a mission. You won’t be able to reach me for some time. If there’s anything, contact auntie or Peter Gingery.” James Black specifically called Jane Sampson to convey this matter, ”Or Thomas Lancaster and Yvette Quick, even Alexander Forest could work.”

Jane Sampson suddenly went silent.

Last time James Black went on a mission, he also told her to contact auntie for any matters, but this time he made it a point to mention several of his friends.

Jane Sampson asked, ”Are you going on a mission for a long time?”

”It should be quite long.” James Black nodded, ”I may not be able to manage you, but you need to behave, listen, take good care of yourself. The gift I’ve prepared for you is ready; it’s just not clear when you’ll be able to receive it.”

”That’s cheating, I won’t pay attention to you!” Jane Sampson’s face reddened at the thought of James Black’s way of weighing her body weight, her voice buzzing like a mosquito flapping its wings, ”How could you weigh someone bare, like this? You’re slaughtering a pig, plucking its feathers, and draining blood before weighing!”

”Jane Sampson, to be fair, who cheated first? I’m just using the law against itself.” James Black scoffed at Jane Sampson, ”Don’t compare yourself to pigs, pigs aren’t as noisy as you.”

”???!!!」

Dumbfounded.

Jane Sampson was so angry that the phrase ”blowing beard and glaring eyes” wasn’t even enough to describe her current fury.

”Go away!” Jane Sampson was furious, sitting there kicking the chair legs with her feet.

Her actions showed she wanted to hang up the phone in anger.

But rationally, she was very reluctant.

Because once this call ended, it meant that she probably wouldn’t be able to contact James Black for a long time.

She truly couldn’t bear it.

Perhaps, by the time her filming here ended, James Black still couldn’t come home.

In the past, when James Black went on a mission or a business trip, one outing could be short, like three to five days, or long, sometimes a mission could be three to five months or even half a year without returning to Capital Province.

Back then, Jane Sampson even felt carefree and wanted to celebrate joyfully with singing and dancing.

But now, just thinking about James Black not being home made Jane Sampson feel uneasy inside.

Even though she’s filming outside, and James Black is in the Capital Province Guard, she can’t see James Black every day, but knowing he’s in the guard team, knowing he’s doing well there, made Jane Sampson feel at ease and happy outside.

Because she knew, as long as she got home, James Black would definitely come to pick her up.

”Is this mission dangerous?” Jane Sampson bit her lips and gently asked.

James Black didn’t answer, instead, he changed the subject, talking about other things with Jane Sampson, even bringing up the home stay managed by Jane Sampson and Bright Sampson to divert her attention.

This phone call lasted more than half an hour until the director called someone over to prepare Jane Sampson for acting classes, and only then did Jane Sampson reluctantly say goodbye to James Black.

Eventually, after hanging up, she still couldn’t bear it and sent James Black a message, asking him to send a message to her when he was leaving.

Jane Sampson’s afternoon script was mostly indoors, filming some piano practice scenes and attending award ceremonies post-victory.

The afternoon passed in this leisurely manner.

When the sun set, Jillian Carter appeared in the film crew again, beaming.

But compared to the afternoon, Jane Sampson immediately noticed that Jillian Carter had reapplied makeup, with a thick layer of concealer under her eyes.
