CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1834: Chapter 1842: Missing a Child

”James, it turns out Jillian’s mom and dad are my mom and dad, and Mr. Carter is my brother,” Jane Sampson couldn’t contain her excitement. ”I didn’t believe it at first. I thought Mr. Carter and they were just comforting me by telling a white lie. But Mr. Carter even showed me the paternity test. He secretly took my hair this morning and got it done.”

”The Carter family?” James Black’s voice was filled with astonishment. ”It’s actually the Carter family?”

As an observer, James Black found it hard to deny. When he discovered Jane Sampson’s biological parents were from the Carter family, he was truly shocked and found it hard to believe.

However, since it was the Carter family, James understood. No wonder Jane Sampson was so delighted and quick to believe it.

Because Jane was familiar with the Carter family, and ever since she knew them, they had always treated her well.

At the same time, James understood that if it were the Carter family, it was inevitable that no information was left at the hospital in the past.

Old Sir Carter and Father Carter were both defenders, and naturally, they wouldn’t easily leave their family’s information at such a minor hospital for protection purposes.

Moreover, back then, Mrs. Carter was accompanied by a bodyguard, indicating that the Carter family’s situation was special at the time, requiring even more cautious actions.

”Are you surprised too?” Jane Sampson lay on the bed, rolling around happily as she spoke on the mobile phone, ”James, I’m really happy. I never imagined my mom and dad would be them.”

”I have you, grandfather, auntie, and now mom and dad too. James, suddenly, I feel like my life is complete,” Jane said. ”I like them, I like the Carter family, they’re all really nice people.”

James chuckled softly, ”That’s complete? Don’t you feel like you’re still missing something?”

”Missing what?” Jane asked earnestly, puzzled.

”We’re missing our child,” James said with a barely concealed smile, ”We’re missing a child.”

”...” Jane huffed, realizing what James was implying afterward.

She didn’t want James to feel pleased with himself, so she snorted and said, ”I’m a baby too, you know, Daddy Black, and you don’t even give your baby any candy.”

”Huh,” James gave Jane a faint scoff.

”You have to treat me better now because I have mom and dad. If you make me unhappy, I can go back to my mother’s home,” Jane laughed triumphantly, ”If you upset me, I’ll just live at mom and dad’s house and ignore you.”

”Wishful thinking. Dare to leave, and I’ll break your legs,” James said sternly.

Yet Jane wasn’t scared at all; she laughed merrily on the phone.

Jane was quite keen on doing things that could upset James Black anyway.

”You wouldn’t bear to~” Jane stated confidently, and a tad smugly, ”Anyway, you’ll have to treat me better, and I’ll share half of my mom and dad with you.”

”How should I be good to you?” James asked with interest.

”Buy me milk tea, buy me ice cream, buy me...”

Before Jane could finish, James interrupted her.

”Then you might as well just stay unhappy,” he said, ”What you’re thinking is quite fanciful.”

Jane: ....

One sentence from James about how fanciful her thinking was left Jane speechless.

She knew it would be like this.
