CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1713: Chapter 1721: Forgotten

Jane Sampson pouted slightly, as if she was finally satisfied.

”You’ve been coming to the study to find me, is there something going on?” James Black asked in a low voice.

Only then did Jane Sampson open her eyes again, her gaze somewhat blank as she looked at him and nodded.

”What is it?” James Black asked.

Jane Sampson thought for a good half-minute before scrunching her nose, ”I forgot.”

She really suddenly forgot why she had come to look for James Black in the evening; her brain seemed to have suddenly gone blank, unable to recall anything. ”Think about it slowly tomorrow, you go back to sleep,” James Black lowered his head and kissed Jane Sampson on the forehead.

Jane Sampson yawned, ”When I finished my bath, Bright Sampton gave me a call and said that David Chip’s parents went to the hospital to find Julie Sampson, gave Julie Sampson 80 million, and Julie Sampson agreed to withdraw the case.”

As she spoke, Jane Sampson perked up a bit. She looked up at James Black, ”Later, I thought about it, and I always felt that something about this is strange.”

”Tell me,” James Black said.

”From Julie Sampson’s miscarriage to the video of David Chip bribing the hotel staff to commit the crime being exposed, this period was very short. However, from the time it spread on the internet to the time Bright Sampton went to report it to the police, it was a whole half a day. During this half-day, the Chip Family did not give any response, nor did they remove the hot search, or approach Bright Sampton.”

Jane Sampson said, ”At first, I thought the Chip Family was unafraid, thinking they had the power to resolve this issue through their influence. But as soon as Bright Sampton reported it to the police, they immediately called Bright Sampton with a 50 million offer to drop the case.”

”After Bright Sampton tweeted, just during the time it took to get from the police station to the hospital, as soon as he returned to the hospital, the Chip Family couple arrived shortly after. In just a few words, the offer of 50 million increased to 80 million, a direct jump of 30 million, and Bright Sampton said the Chip Family was very straightforward about it. Julie Sampson agreed, and within 15 minutes, the money was credited, and then they were sent to the police station to confirm the withdrawal, after which the Chip Family couple hurried away.”

Jane Sampson shook James Black gently, ”Don’t you think the order of this process is a bit strange? Normally, when encountering such an issue, the Chip Family should first suppress the online spread, using whatever means necessary to quash the news, and simultaneously quickly approach the Sampton Family to negotiate terms.”

”Before the Sampton Family reported it to the police, they should negotiate compensation privately, so that the Sampton Family wouldn’t report it. If Julie Sampson accepted the money, this matter could be resolved quite easily, as long as the speed is quick enough to prevent it from spreading online.”

After finishing, Jane Sampson quietly looked at James Black, waiting for his response. The way the Chip Family handled this matter really left Jane Sampson baffled.

Giving 80 million so readily, if they were going to give it anyway, why not do it earlier? Giving it early would result in minimal online impact, and David Chip wouldn’t be criticized as harshly as he is now.

Now, the Chip Family has given the 80 million, but the issue between David Chip and Julie Sampson is already known by everyone.

The entire online community knows David Chip is a ruthless scumbag.

”The hot search for David Chip and Julie Sampson only started to be suppressed when I was about to go to bed tonight, but it’s too late, it’s been a day, and everyone who should know already knows.” Jane Sampson clicked her tongue, ”The Chip Family’s behavior, the more I think about it, the stranger it seems.”
