Chapter 1630: Chapter 1638 The Difference Is Really Big

No one in the Sampton Family was aware of this recent internet upheaval.

The Sampton Family didn’t have many relatives, and James Black, as the grandson-in-law, truly wasn’t idle, with many guests coming and going in the house. Families in the village who had connections with Granny Sampton also came to pay their last respects.

James Black, acting as the grandson-in-law, busily attended to these guests, and only after someone could take over for him did he finally breathe a sigh of relief.

James Black didn’t even have time to drink water before heading into the Memorial Hall to see Jane Sampson.

Jane Sampson still maintained the same posture as when he last saw her, sitting there, having cried for one whole night.

James Black slowly approached Jane Sampson, then bent down behind her, gently patted the back of her hand, and asked, ”Do you want some water? I’ll pour it for you.”

Jane Sampson gently shook her head, her movements seemed a bit sluggish, and her body kept trembling.

Seeing her like this, James Black felt something wasn’t right, so he hurriedly reached out to touch Jane Sampson’s forehead and was startled by what he felt.

”Jane, you’re having a fever?” James Black immediately picked up Jane Sampson, ”Make way, make way...”

Bright Sampton was also frightened, quickly chased after him, ”Brother-in-law, what’s wrong with my sister?”

In James Black’s arms, Jane Sampson seemed to be swaying in and out of consciousness, feeling her face burning fiercely and her body chilling intensely.

”Fever.” James Black said, then immediately took out his mobile phone to make a call to the private doctor.

It takes time to get to the nearest hospital from here, and Jane Sampson is feeling really uncomfortable now. Instead of bumping along the way, it’s better to call the private doctor directly.

Bright Sampton reached out to touch Jane Sampson’s forehead, ”Why is it so hot?”

Immediately, he began to blame himself.

”I’ve been right next to my sister, how did I not notice she was ill! How could I be so stupid, saying I wanted to take care of her, but didn’t even realize she was sick.” Bright Sampton, holding his fist, slammed the wall in frustration.

”The day before yesterday, she wore too little on the grassland and was exposed to the cold wind all day, and last night didn’t rest well either.” James Black turned and said to Bright Sampton, ”I remember grandma had some antipyretics, go find them for me, and fetch a cup of warm boiled water too.”

Bright Sampton responded with a nod, quickly shut the door, and went out. The relatives outside were also startled by James Black and Bright Sampton, and as they saw Bright Sampton come out, they gathered around him, concernedly asking, ”What’s wrong with your sister?”

”High fever, her body is very hot.” Bright Sampton replied, ”She seems a bit muddled, and hasn’t spoken a word inside. I’ll go find her some medicine first.”

”Oh, hurry up.” Relatives from the Sampton Family sighed while standing by, shaking their heads continuously, ”This is the difference between raising a granddaughter and a biological granddaughter. Last time, when Old Sir passed away, Jane cried until she almost couldn’t breathe, but the biological granddaughter was nowhere to be seen. This time, grandma passed away, and the adopted granddaughter kept vigil until she had a high fever without making a sound, while the biological granddaughter remains holed up in the guest room, not even bothering to put on a pretense.”

”Yes, why is there such a big difference?” someone echoed, ”Jane has been especially close to her grandparents since she was a child. In less than a month, the two elders passed away one after the other, how heartbroken she must be. I heard Jane and Bright Sampton, the young siblings, only came to the countryside with the elders a few days ago to climb mountains and see the peach blossoms.”
