Chapter 1491: Chapter 1499: What Does It Have to Do with Me?

Granny Sampton looked at Father Sampton, and after a few seconds, she finally made a sound.

Her tone was somewhat indifferent.

Father Sampton mistakenly thought that his mother was tired, which made her tone cold, so he didn’t pay much attention and directly spoke, ”Mom, Julie is pregnant.”

Granny Sampton thought a thousand different things, but none of them involved Father Sampton telling her this matter.

Granny Sampton was stunned, unable to recover for a long time.

In Granny Sampton’s view, Julie Sampton breaking up someone’s engagement was already very immoral and unethical. She didn’t expect that Julie was also pregnant.

”Is she so cheap and eager to have a bastard child?” Granny Sampton was furious, almost unable to take a breath, her entire body trembling.

”Mom, don’t be angry. It’s already too late to say these things now. It’s our fault, mine and Luna’s mom’s, for not teaching our daughter well.” Father Sampton was scared, quickly helping Granny Sampton to sit on a chair next to her.

”Yes, I can’t be angry. It’s not worth it. Who is Julie Sampton? What does she have to do with me? She’s not anyone of mine; I shouldn’t be angry over someone irrelevant.” Granny Sampton shrugged off Father Sampton’s hand, ”This daughter that only brings disgrace, she’s yours, has nothing to do with me.”

Granny Sampton sneered, ”The so-called special reason for not coming is probably because she’s pregnant and afraid that if she comes, this bastard child might accidentally have an issue, right?”

This time, it was Father Sampton’s turn to be stunned. The reason he told Granny Sampton about Julie’s pregnancy was to lead to something he meant to say later, but he never expected Granny Sampton’s reaction to be this big.

And the word ”bastard” was constantly on her lips.

In Father Sampton’s impression, whether it was his father or mother, although they were born in the countryside, they were people with dignity, and they never used such coarse language to insult anyone.

But now, Father Sampton was hearing his mother use the word ”bastard” for the first time, and it was used to describe the child in his daughter’s belly.

How much must Granny Sampton dislike Julie Sampton at this moment.

”Mom, no matter what, the blood connection and family ties cannot be changed. Luna is my daughter.” Father Sampton said, ”Mom, as things stand, what else can we as parents do except to help her? Her affair with David Chip is known worldwide, and she’s pregnant. If she can’t marry David Chip, her life will be ruined.”

”If her life is ruined, then it’s ruined. What does it have to do with me? Even if her entire life is ruined, it’s her own doing.” Granny Sampton sneered.

”Don’t talk to me about the bonds of blood and family. I care about them, but has she ever cared? She’s cold-blooded and selfish, indifferent even to her own family. Who says that the bonds of blood and family cannot be changed? Haven’t I already said that I won’t recognize her anymore? Isn’t that a change?”

”Mom~” The resoluteness in Granny Sampton’s words frightened Father Sampton greatly. He feared he wouldn’t be able to persuade his mother now.

Father Sampton even regretted in his heart that he had been too hasty.

He originally planned to give Granny Sampton a few days to calm down, and after she had cooled off, he would bring up this matter again.

But just now, after making a call to Bright Sampton and learning his mother had decided to return directly to the countryside, Father Sampton became anxious again. He feared that once Granny Sampton returned to the countryside, being so far from the family, she would become even more set in her ways and stubborn.

”Mom, are you really so heartless that you don’t care whether she lives or dies?” Father Sampton put on a pitiable expression of an old father, ”Mom, even if you don’t recognize Julie Sampton, could you at least help your son here?”
