CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1447: Chapter 1455: It Doesn’t Matter

Rachel Miller, when mentioning her long-deceased elder brother, couldn’t help but miss him, ”My brother said, when he was little, he always envied others for having a daddy and mommy, but he only had a mother. He constantly asked his mom where his dad was, why he didn’t have a dad. Later, when he heard mom say that she was taking him to find his dad, he was overjoyed. And when he met his dad, he was also very happy.”

Rachel Miller let out a sigh, ”It wasn’t until later that my brother realized, his happiness was built on taking someone else’s dad away. He then understood that his mom was that sort of bad woman people talked about, and he, was the bad child who took someone else’s dad.”

”My brother died of an illness; the pain made him emaciated and gaunt. Yet, my brother said he felt he was about to be freed. He stole someone else’s dad, and mom stole someone else’s husband; this was punishment from fate. Living was nothing but inner torment and pain for him. In death, he found release. When Brother passed away, I was standing right next to him; he left this world with a smile.”

Rachel Miller’s eyes were slightly red, ”During his lifetime, he didn’t have a single day of happiness, not until the very day he died did he finally feel joyful.”

”Why are you telling me all this? I really don’t want to know about your family’s affairs,” Jane Sampson said, stepping back slightly.

Jane Sampson had learned of this child’s situation from Old Master Black previously; Old Master Black said at the time that the child had a kind heart; it was just unfortunate that he was born into the Miller Family.

”My brother was always very good to me, cared for me, protected me. Seeing him live unhappily, in fact, I have always harbored secret resentment towards the parents who gave me life,” Rachel Miller said with a self-deprecating laugh. ”I think they were very cruel to my brother, especially mom. She taught my brother from a young age to be a good kid, to be kind and upright. Yet, it was also her and my father who dragged my brother’s mental world down a muddy road filled with disgrace.”

”My brother was not very old when he returned to the Miller Family, but he was already a child with his thoughts. His parents’ affair made his once stable worldview crumble in an instant. Since then, he has never been able to accept his new life,” said Rachel Miller. ”My brother passed away from an illness, and my mother has been depressed since then, because she knows that even if she gave my brother luxurious food and clothing, from the moment she brought him back to the Miller home, she could never give him happiness again. After my brother died, she felt guilty. Over the years, her health has also been poor, and she’s been almost a permanent resident in the hospital.”

”In my heart, I actually hate her. Because of her, my brother never had a single happy day. Just after my brother returned to the Miller Family, she clearly realized that something was wrong with him. Yet, for the sake of fighting over certain fame and fortune, she neglected psychological counseling for my brother, leading to his short, miserable life. But whenever I see her lying pale on the sickbed, this hatred just can’t come out, after all, she is the mother who gave birth to me, raised me, and loved me.”

Hearing Rachel Miller up to this point, Jane Sampson had already lost her patience, ”General Manager Miller, I’m really not interested in your Miller Family’s affairs at all. You really don’t need to tell me, I am James Black’s wife, sure, but James Black and your Miller Family don’t have the slightest relationship, so I’m even less likely to be involved.”
