CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1383: Chapter 1391 You are Also Discriminating

”Mr. Carter, can I beat up your good friend?” Jane Sampson was so angry she was almost bursting at the seams.

James Carter was also fiddling with his mobile phone, heard Jane’s comment, lifted his head slightly—a minor gesture, thought for a moment, and replied, ”Suit yourself.”

”Come on, it’s just a joke. How can a young girl have such a fiery temper?” Kendal Smith stared at James Carter’s cane for a few seconds, only breathing a sigh of relief when he saw that James had no intention of using it. After all, the lethality of James’s cane was not any less than that of the Old Sir’s walking stick back at home.

”But speaking of which, I’m really curious, how did you end up marrying James Black? That guy has always been like that since we were kids, how could any girl like him? Are you ladies’ brains filled with cement? So you like men who are both stiff and cold?”

Kendal Smith asked with sincere curiosity. He and James were from the same school but different grades, so he often saw James around. Plenty of schoolgirls had a crush on him, but none had the courage to confess to James.

”I heard that when James graduated from high school, the school beauty plucked up her courage to confess to him, and he just coldly rejected her, saying he was already engaged.” After Kendal Smith finished speaking, he suddenly realized that he might have said something wrong.

If James Black really had a prior marriage contract that his now-wife Jane Sampson didn’t know about, wouldn’t that be stirring up trouble in their marriage? Worse, Jane might even think he was trying to hit on her.

”Hmm, our marriage contract was settled a long time ago, when he graduated high school?” Jane counted on her fingers and calculated, ”Yeah, that’s about right.”

”Oh my God, how old were you at that time for him to even consider it? Was he a beast?” Kendal Smith blurted out.

”Ever heard of childhood sweethearts?” Jane snapped, slapping the table, unable to tolerate anyone speaking ill of her James Black, ”You wouldn’t understand, which is exactly why you’re still single!”

”What’s that? Are you discriminating now? I’m enjoying my single life here. If I, Kendal Smith, didn’t want to be single, there’d be a trainload of girls waiting for me to choose from!” Kendal Smith scoffed and waved his hand dismissively, tearing off a piece of pizza and starting to eat.

Mocking Kendal’s manner of speaking, Jane responded, ”Half the train for your face, half for your wallet, not one of them for your interesting soul. I feel sorry for you.”

”I’ve realized that the obedient nature you show in front of seniors is all an act, your words are too sharp,” Kendal Smith nudged James Carter, ”You brought this little friend along, you should keep her in line.”

It was then that James Carter finally put down his phone, smiled, and said, ”She’s just fine.”

After saying that, James Carter turned to look at Jane Sampson and added, ”I just retweeted your tweet, I wonder if I’ll win the prize. I’m quite looking forward to it.”

”What? Mr. Carter, you were retweeting my tweet?” Jane Sampson exclaimed in delight, ”Mr. Carter, even if you don’t win, I’ll make sure to save a portion for you!”

”I want a portion of whatever it is too.” Kendal Smith hadn’t even asked what it was about before claiming a share, and only after did he continue to inquire, ”What tweet? Jane Sampson’s tweet? I haven’t followed you yet, I’ll follow you now. Jane, remember to follow me back.”

It must be said, aside from Kendal Smith, who else could be so familiar right off the bat?

Only Kendal Smith would dare to entrust someone with the keys after just meeting for half a day, and only Kendal Smith would dare to boldly ask for stuff right away after just half a day of acquaintance.
