CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1318: Chapter 1326: Can’t Tell

”I know.” Jillian Carter pursed her lips, apologizing reluctantly.

”And when you shop on live streams, buy if you want, but if you don’t buy, keep your comments to a minimum. This shouldn’t be too difficult.” James Carter looked at Jillian opposite him, not sure how much she was taking in, ”During your first live stream, you criticized that brand of perfume in public, leading to your fans and Jane Sampson’s fans directly clashing on the internet. This is the consequence of your unguarded remarks.”

Upon hearing the name Jane Sampson, Jillian Carter scoffed coldly, ”Brother, that’s unreasonable of you. Am I not allowed to dislike what she likes and criticize it? Whether I like it or not is my freedom.”

”Yes, but your freedom brings trouble to others,” James Carter said. ”You should learn to be more considerate. When I called her that day to apologize on your behalf, her attitude compared to yours showed me the difference in the word ’manners.’”

James Carter even thought of using the word ’upbringing’, but then he decided against it, considering his mother was sitting next to him, and refrained from using such harsh language.

”The perfume was a gift from Jane Sampson’s husband to her, which holds significant meaning for her. When you publicly belittled the perfume and even the brand in public, first, you embarrassed Jane Sampson, and second, you offended the brand and inadvertently shut down one of your future opportunities.”

James Carter didn’t quite understand. Jane Sampson and Jillian Carter seemed to be of the same age. How could there be such a big difference between two similarly pampered girls?

Gwendolyn Young nodded in agreement after listening, ”Your brother is right. James started his career earlier than you and has more experience. You should learn from him. Regarding the perfume incident, your language was indeed inappropriate. It’s not that you aren’t free to dislike something, but dislike should be expressed privately or kept to yourself. You shouldn’t have used those awkward words in the live broadcast.”

After lecturing Jillian Carter, Gwendolyn Young turned and said to James Carter, ”I remember Jane Sampson introduced on Twitter that the perfume is called Morning After, given to her by her husband. It seems that she and her husband have a great relationship. Such a young couple, even their gift exchange is so interesting.”

”I’m also quite surprised. I couldn’t tell Mr. Black is such a romantic defender,” James Carter said with a light smile upon mentioning the couple. ”When we go back, mom can talk to dad, encourage him to learn a bit more as well.”

”I don’t expect much. We’ve been together for decades already, I don’t expect him to have a sudden revelation in his old age,” Gwendolyn Young said cheerfully. ”By the way, we should be seeing Jane Sampson soon, right? That girl is very interesting.”

Listening to her mother and brother talking, Jillian Carter’s face sank entirely.

”I’m done eating!” Jillian Carter slammed her chopsticks down, kicked the chair, and strode off while shouting toward the kitchen, ”With this cooking skill, you dare claim it’s a family tradition? Don’t bother coming tomorrow!”

After saying that, Jillian Carter went straight upstairs.

The Aunt had a stubborn temper, too. She immediately took off her apron, ignoring the dessert that hadn’t been served from the kitchen, and left with a dark face. Gwendolyn Young hurriedly went after her to apologize on behalf of her daughter, personally escorted the Aunt to the doorway, and even paid her salary for Jillian.

Coincidentally, William King arrived right then. Gwendolyn Young knew William King and thought he had become friends with James Carter and came to see him. Upon seeing William King at the doorway, Gwendolyn Young very enthusiastically invited him in.
