CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1246: Chapter 1254: Passed Away After Many Years of Illness

”After that, his family just vanished, suppressed by me for more than a decade, almost breathless. I heard they later moved abroad to develop. Unexpectedly, after so many years when I turned a blind eye, they revived again,” Old Master Black knew after this family went abroad he had not kept tabs on them.

And as Old Master Black grew older, he didn’t venture outward, and assuming the Black Family had waned, this family opted for a low profile upon their return. Hence, Crystal Element Group had not expanded towards the Northland, so it was natural that Old Master Black wasn’t aware of their activities. ”Just a few days ago, your aunt and uncle-in-law came and told me about Crystal Element Group,” Old Master Black explained, ”These people probably thought we had let go of past grudges after all these years and decided to test the waters in the Northland.”

And it had been over 20 years, Old Master Black thought these people probably assumed his family had been fatally weakened back then and had declined as well.

In fact, when Crystal Element Group’s reach extended towards the Capital Province, Aunt Black stopped them. The land Crystal Element Group eyed in the Capital Province eventually landed in the hands of their competitors, with the Black Family lending a hand in the middle.

”Grandfather, do you think Crystal Element Group approached me by coincidence or on purpose?” Jane Sampson was worried about this now.

Old Master Black pondered then said, ”It should be a coincidence. The Miller Family didn’t secure the land they were almost certain of; your aunt told me that up to now, the Millers still have no clue why. It was your aunt who intervened, but since she keeps things under wraps, the Miller family hasn’t managed to trace it back here yet.”

”The Miller family?” Jane immediately thought of someone, ”Rachel Miller is that illegitimate son? The General Manager of Crystal Element Grand Hotel, I’ve met him in King Town and even interacted with him.”

”Who is Rachel Miller?” Old Master Black shook his head, ”He’s not that child. I’ve never heard of Rachel Miller; he might be a relative of the Miller Family? Ask your aunt later; she’s been keeping an eye on the Millers recently and might have gathered some information.”

Old Master Black mentioned the illegitimate son, his eyes slightly faltered, ”the whole Miller family are beasts, but that child, frankly, I don’t like him personally, but to be fair, that boy, he was actually good.”

Old Master Black sighed softly, ”It’s just that the boy had a tough fate. He passed away many years ago due to an illness.”

Jane Sampson froze on the spot, stunned.

Dead?

”That boy didn’t inherit his parents’ cruel heart. Back when I went to take James away, he chased us out in the rain, bowed deeply to me and James, apologizing, then grasping one hand of mine and one of James’, with tears in his eyes, asked if he could please not take his brother away.”

Back then from the onset of the event until he resolutely took James away, among the many people of the Miller Family, Old Master Black never saw any signs of guilt or apology in their eyes.

Later, on the final day before his departure, Old Master Black finally saw it.

But unexpectedly, such an expression would come from such a young child.

Unlike his parents, the boy, although young, truly had a commendable character.

Thus, later, when Old Master Black heard that the boy had succumbed to illness, there was still a slight tinge of regret in his heart.
