CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1131: Chapter 1139 You Wait for Me

The thought of James Black suddenly made James Chip slap his head and say, ”What’s wrong with your mobile phone? Why can’t I ever get through? The person at your home must be incredibly worried because they can’t reach you.”

That was when Jane Sampson remembered she still hadn’t called James Black.

”Coco and I were trapped inside the car after someone blocked us, and we got into a car accident. The car was flipped upside down, and we were stuck inside. Coco was seriously injured, so I secretly called the police with my mobile phone. The police didn’t hang up the phone because they worried I would be scared, and it wasn’t until the guard team found us that my mobile phone ran out of battery and shut down automatically,” Jane Sampson explained, then asked, ”Is your phone still working? May I borrow it to give him a call?”

”Quickly,” James Chip handed his phone to Jane Sampson and then said, ”I’m going to check elsewhere. I’ll come back to find you later.”

Jane Sampson hummed a response, daring not even to nod in fear that such a movement would make her head hurt so much she’d feel like vomiting.

As soon as James Chip left, Jane Sampson immediately called James Black.

She didn’t know since when James Black’s phone number had embedded itself so deeply in her mind.

Not even a concussion could erase it.

James Black was obviously waiting for the call because, as soon as Jane Sampson dialed out, the person on the other end picked up almost instantly.

”How is it, have you found the person?” James Black spoke with such urgency that it was impossible for him to sit still.

”James Black, it’s me,” Jane Sampson hurriedly said, ”I’m in the hospital now. I’m fine, don’t worry.”

Hearing Jane say she was fine, James Black’s heart went cold.

”You think just because I’m not by your side, I know nothing, so you can just deceive me at will? Jane Sampson, who gave you the courage to fool me like this?” James Black didn’t believe a single word about her being fine.

If she were fine, why would she be in the hospital at this time?

One would think she would return to the hotel to rest or be at the police station assisting with the case.

Moreover, her voice sounded weak; he’d have to be foolishly naïve to be tricked by Jane Sampson, ”I’m really fine,” Jane Sampson replied, her confidence shaken by the scolding, ”It’s just a minor concussion. The doctor said I need to be observed in the hospital for forty-eight hours, and if there is no problem, I can be discharged.”

”What symptoms do you have now?” James Black asked.

After that, he added immediately, ”Don’t even think about misleading me, Jane Sampson. I’m smarter than you think. You can try to deceive me now, but once I expose you, you are on your own!”

Jane Sampson cowered immediately, realizing that he was truly angry, and very, very angry at that.

”James Black~” Jane Sampson dropped the act and pleaded in a soft voice, ”My head hurts a little, I feel dizzy, and I even feel like throwing up.”

After speaking, Jane whimpered and complained, ”I’m feeling so uncomfortable, and you’re still being harsh on me~”

That one act of coquetry managed to suffocate the angry words James Black hadn’t yet vented.

The more he held back, the angrier he got, yet he couldn’t bring himself to unleash it on Jane Sampson.

”You just wait for me!” James Black gritted his teeth, ”As soon as I’ve made arrangements here, I’ll come straight there to find you! In no more than two days, I can head out from here! Stay put in the hospital, and don’t you dare go anywhere else!”

”By the time two days pass, I could already be discharged. What are you coming for?” Jane Sampson felt James Black must be really angry now. If he came, wouldn’t he clean her clock?

If only she had acted pitiful from the moment she answered the phone.

”What do you think I am coming for?” James Black counter-questioned Jane Sampson, and then commanded, ”Now, immediately close your eyes and go to sleep!”

After saying that, James Black hung up the phone with a click.

A patient with a concussion needs good rest.
