CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1122: Chapter 1130 The Way In Is Blocked

Back to the hotel, it was almost 4 o’clock, and even if she went back to rest immediately, she would only have a little over two hours left to rest.

However, as the car reached the hotel doorway, reality informed Coco Edwards that the rest she thought she had for over two hours didn’t exist. In the early morning, late at night, the front of the hotel was blocked by a crowd so dense that water couldn’t pass through it, and the hotel’s security guard, nursing his injuries, sat helplessly on the edge of the flowerbed, sighing repeatedly.

Coco Edwards asked Jane Sampson to stay inside the car and sneaked out herself to ask the security guard about the situation. James Black and his group had already stepped out of the car and were talking to the person in charge of the hotel in an inconspicuous corner.

Jane Sampson was dozing off inside the car, but she could still hear the noisy commotion outside.

Coco Edwards went out for a few minutes and came back, slamming the car door so loudly that it shocked Jane Sampson awake.

”Why are you so pissed off?” Jane sat up in the rear seat and rubbed her bleary eyes.

Coco Edwards usually had a good temper, and even dealing with Mona Calm’s issues hadn’t gotten her this wound up.

”The existence of the phrase ’utterly despicable’ is not without reason!” Coco Edwards slapped the steering wheel, grimacing in pain, ”These people take advantage of their numbers, bullying the weak and fearing the strong, picking on our film crew! The thief who worked at the hotel had been caught, and while a few faced a couple of days of detention, the majority were facing sentencing. Then the relatives of these thieves called on their own relatives, and together with fellow villagers, they crowded the hotel, demanding the release of their family members. They said if we didn’t release them, they wouldn’t let us have peace! They blocked every entrance to the hotel, adamant about not letting anyone in or out!”

Coco Edwards was so angry that her breathing intensified, ”If they have the guts, why don’t they surround the police station and demand the release of those thieves? They don’t dare blockade the police station, so they target our crew. The director was so angry he was jumping up and down.”

”Did you call the police?” Jane asked.

”We did, but it’s no use. The only accessible crossroads have been blocked by the villagers with God knows what, and the police need some time to clear the way. So, they can’t get in quickly,” Coco said. ”Accordingly, it’s not very safe for little Jane here. I’m going to drive the car somewhere else, and you can take a break inside the car for now.”

In her heart, Coco Edwards estimated that Jane wouldn’t be able to return to her room to rest before daybreak.

After saying this, Coco Edwards did not start driving immediately, but rather, while Jane was groggily turning her head to look outside the window, Coco made a direct call to James Black.

Coco originally worried that it was too late for James to answer the phone at this time, but as soon as she made the call, James picked up after a short while.

His voice sounded somewhat tense, ”What’s happened?”

It wasn’t that James was overly suspicious, but it was nearly 4 o’clock in the morning. If it wasn’t something concerning Jane, Coco wouldn’t call him at such an hour.

”There’s been an incident inside the crew. Just in case, I think I need to let you know.” Coco went on to explain the situation in detail to James, then added, ”Mr. Black, you are well-connected and know many people. Do you know anyone from Cloud Province? Not to come over to handle the situation here, but to help look after little Jane. I’m worried that James Chip will be provoked, those in the crew from whom stuff was stolen won’t back down, and these legally illiterate villagers might do something drastic.”
