CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1072: Chapter 1080: Unchanging for Ten Thousand Years

Because she was in a good mood, Jane Sampson staggered back, clinging to James Black’s arm. As she entered, with James Black still swapping his shoes out in the doorway, she skipped and hopped into the bedroom ahead of him.

Without waiting for James Black to join her, she hurriedly pulled out the birthday gift she had prepared for him earlier that morning from her backpack.

Hearing James Black’s footsteps approaching the door, she quickly hid the small box in her hand behind her and then turned to look at him with a grin and narrowed teeth.

James Black walked in with a slight lift at the corner of his mouth, sat down beside her, and glanced a few times at something behind her, patiently waiting for Jane Sampson to reveal it herself.

Surprisingly, James Black hadn’t expected Jane Sampson to have prepared a birthday gift for him.

After she had painstakingly made a cake and cooked longevity noodles for him, he still had a gift to receive.

”Close your eyes, and when I count to three, you can open them,” Jane Sampson said, blinking mysteriously at James Black. Once she confirmed that James Black truly had his eyes closed, she waved her hand in front of his face to double-check, then asked again for confirmation, ”Guess how many fingers I’m holding up?”

”A whole palm,” James Black replied without hesitation.

”You’re cheating! Did you peek?” Jane Sampson drew back her hand and lightly patted his shoulder, ”You can’t do that. If you keep this up, I won’t show you the gift.”

”Have you changed since you were little, using this trick?” James Black chuckled.

Since Jane Sampson was very young, the mysterious gesture she made behind people’s backs was always a palm—unchanging for years.

Jane Sampson blinked, how could she seem to hear a hint of disdain in James Black’s words?

But being so ruthlessly exposed by James Black embarrassed Jane Sampson, she huffed, ”Next time, it definitely won’t be a palm!”

She reassured herself of this quietly.

After making sure James Black hadn’t opened his eyes, Jane Sampson intended to bring out the small box she had been hiding in her palm, but then...

After some thought, she tossed the box back into the drawer and instead turned to the wardrobe, pulled out a small paper bag, and, scurrying over, stuffed the entire paper bag into James Black’s hand.

”This is my gift to you, okay, now you can open your eyes.”

After passing the paper bag to James Black, Jane Sampson stealthily took a step back.

Once James Black opened his eyes, she took another step back,

Then stood there, with a mischievous chuckle at James Black, who had just opened his eyes.

James Black looked at the thing in his arms and raised an eyebrow, ”Is it clothes?”

Jane Sampson beamed like an adorable little white rabbit, nodded her small head with a sound of affirmation.

Seeing Jane Sampson’s feigned innocence, James Black’s movement to open the paper bag hesitated for a moment; he even debated whether to open it right in front of her.

She could be quite exasperating at times.

It wasn’t unlikely that she had schemes to tease him today as well.

”Hurry up and see if you like it,” Jane Sampson urged impatiently upon seeing James Black motionless, ”I went through a lot of effort to get this gift for you. If you don’t open it, I’ll take it back. I won’t give it to you.”

Saying this, Jane Sampson murmured to herself, ”It was so hard to buy. If it weren’t for you, I really wouldn’t have wanted to part with it.”

Hearing Jane Sampson say that, James Black finally proceeded to the next step.
