CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 922: Chapter 930: The Little Greedy Cat That Was Lured Out

But as little Jane grew older and her health improved, Yvette and the others began to get busy with their own things, school studies, various interest classes, and special talent classes. Nobody could spare the energy to properly pamper this little greedy cat.

Old Watson smiled apologetically at James Black, ”Sorry, I really forgot, but your wife gets very quiet when she drinks a lot. When you go home in the evening, she probably won’t trouble you.”

”Alright, I’ll take her home first,” James Black tossed the car key to Thomas Lancaster, ”You help me find a designated driver to take the car to the downstairs of the building, I’ll take her downstairs to catch a taxi.”

Since the designated driver would undoubtedly take a while to arrive from outdoors, James Black decided not to wait and instead planned to go downstairs immediately to hail a taxi, which would be faster.

”Okay.” Thomas Lancaster caught the key and nodded, ”Then you two go ahead. We’ll sit here a bit longer and wait for the designated driver, we need to find one to drive us too.”

James Black nodded, then extended his right hand towards little Jane, ”Get up, let’s go home.”

Little Jane sat there, slowly nodding her head, then stood up. Her delicate little hand obediently placed itself in James Black’s palm, and then she let him lead her out of the private room.

She was quite drunk, and her head swayed as she walked, until James couldn’t stand it any longer. He pressed her head into his arms and wrapped his shoulder around her, finally managing to escort the foolishly drunk person out.

It was quite a coincidence. Just as they left the clubhouse, they bumped right into Brooke Black and her husband, who had been next door at the tea pavilion meeting with a client until now. As they came out, they saw James Black holding the barely visible face of little Jane, waiting for a taxi.

At this time, it was hard to find a vacant taxi at the doorway of the clubhouse.

”James, Jane, the couple is quite romantic, coming out for drinks, huh?” Brooke Black teased as she walked over with her husband’s hand in hers toward James.

”Not as romantic as Aunt and Uncle having a date at the tea pavilion in the evening,” James retorted.

Brooke Black was choked up by the remark, and Father Gingery laughed out loud before explaining, ”We came out to meet a client. Seeing your wife like this, she has drunk too much, hasn’t she? Is she drunk?”

”Thomas and Yvette came back to the country, and Old Watson rushed over from City South, we all had some drinks together. I took my eyes off her for a moment, and she drank a few bottles of fruit wine with Old Watson and got drunk,” James explained helplessly as he adjusted little Jane’s head.

”No worries, your wife is very well-behaved, she doesn’t make a fuss when she drinks too much—very quiet. It’s only because you are by her side that she feels secure enough to drink a little. Take good care of her tonight, and don’t let her catch a chill,” Aunt Black urged her husband to get the car, ”It’s hard to get a taxi around here at this time, we’ll drive them back first.”

At this moment, the little turtle in James Black’s arms slowly lifted her head from his embrace, belatedly looking toward Brooke and rubbed her eyes, then spoke, ”Auntie~”

Brooke merely responded with an ”Oh,” not expecting that the next second, little Jane would walk over to her, stretching out her arms, her voice soft and mushy, ”Auntie, I want a hug.”

Brooke immediately laughed, embracing the little girl who walked over, ”I didn’t expect our little Jane, when drunk, loves to be coddled.”

James Black raised an eyebrow; he had been holding her all this way, yet why didn’t she act spoiled with him or ask for a hug?
