CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 903: Chapter 911: Either a Cheater or a Thief

James Black came back with Peter Gingery, knowing that Peter Gingery was coming over in the evening, James Black didn’t say much, but his gaze towards him wasn’t too friendly.

As soon as the two opened the door, they could smell the aroma of the meals coming from the kitchen. Peter Gingery sniffed like a dog’s nose, while changing shoes, he said to James Black, ”Little Jane cooked sour soup beef, spicy beef, and also braised pig’s trotters. This smell makes my belly growl just from smelling it.”

”Call her sister-in-law.” James Black kicked Peter Gingery lightly, ”Don’t call out names without respect.”

”...” Peter, who had been calling her Little Jane for half a lifetime, inwardly rejected the kick he just received.

She was clearly younger than him by several months, yet suddenly, she became his senior. This little lass, her tail might even be capable of wagging to the heaven above.

”Peter, your nose competes well with the guard dogs.” Jane Sampson brought out the braised pig’s trotters from the kitchen and meaningfully complimented Peter.

Thinking of placing stuff on the table, Jane Sampson turned her head towards the person at the doorway, and for some reason, a sentence popped into her mind. Hmm, I should be even nicer to Mr. Black.

After thinking for a while, Jane Sampson walked towards James Black, took his right hand, and giggled, making an effort to make her voice sound very gentle and considerate.

”Did you have a tough time at work this afternoon? I made the braised pig’s trotters you like, the exact kind you enjoy that’s stewed with black fungus and soybeans for a very long time.”

James Black’s stride halted abruptly, and Peter Gingery looked terrified.

”Jane Sampson, have you lost your mind?” Peter Gingery stepped back several times with a horrified expression and asked.

Otherwise, why would she suddenly be so warm and courteous to James Black?

Since her rebirth, Jane Sampson had truly embraced ”genuine temperament” deeply, and for all this time, she had barely ever made this dish of braised pig’s trotters.

She just intended to cook it for James Black yesterday using the simplest method possible when she bought groceries.

Buying pig’s trotters was also because James Black had injured his, so she thought he should eat more to recover form with form.

However, when cooking, Jane Sampson thought of James Black’s preferences and fearlessly braved the hassle, standing in the kitchen for over two hours just to make this dish.

”Unexpected kindness is either scheming or theft.” Peter Gingery analyzed from the sideline, then turned and went to the balcony to wash his hands, preparing to eat as quickly as possible.

James Black glanced at the hand Jane Sampson was holding and asked in a gloomy voice, ”How many snacks did you eat this afternoon?”

”Just one ice cream.” Jane Sampson blinked, ”I didn’t eat anything else, not a single bite, didn’t even go smell anything.”

Since she hadn’t done anything wrong, then...

”Did you reflect and come to a conclusion?” James Black thought that must be the only possibility.

”Reflect on what?” Jane Sampson asked blankly, then pulled James Black’s hand to the kitchen, insisting that he wash his hands to eat quickly, while she took the tableware out of the kitchen.

James Black sat down by Jane Sampson’s side, watching her serve him rice, ladle soup, and serve the vegetables, and his gaze lingered on her several times more than usual.

She seemed to be in a particularly good mood tonight.

”James Black, you really need to eat more pig’s trotters so your hand can heal faster.” Jane Sampson placed the biggest piece directly into James Black’s bowl and then said, ”Worried that you guys might feel overheated because of the hot weather, I made you herbal soup to reduce the heat and cool you down. I think our weather in Capital Province, once this heat passes, will cool down immediately, and it should be autumn then.”
