CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 787: Chapter 795: Do You Know the Color Number?

One morning, James Black had messaged her not to save him a meal, so when Jane Sampson asked if she should leave him a portion for dinner, Alexander Forest, while screaming yes in his heart, put on a smile and said he had socializing to do and couldn’t stay for dinner.

After leaving the villa, Alexander Forest immediately sent a string of crying emojis to James Black via WhatsAPP.

It was while lying in bed, after taking a bath and awaiting Jane Sampson, that James Black saw the message.

Seeing it, James Black slightly curled his lips into a smile and then directly transferred two amounts of money to Alexander Forest.

One was the money he had given Alexander Forest to buy stuff.

The other was a consolation for Alexander Forest’s series of crying emojis, knowing he was longing for Jane Sampson’s culinary skills, but still, he had no intention of letting Alexander Forest mooch a meal off them.

Jane Sampson was taking a bath in the bathroom while James Black went to the cloakroom to check the stuff Jane Sampson brought up.

Since it was a gift from Alexander Forest to both James Black and Old Master Black, Jane Sampson complained about the weight when she carried them up but didn’t mean to unwrap and peek inside.

It wasn’t hers, and Jane Sampson had no habit of fiddling with things that didn’t belong to her.

Having difficulty with one hand, James Black took a long time to finally open one of the bags with one hand, and then he took out the lightest thing from inside.

A box no bigger than his palm, tenderly pink and very light, with a bowknot tied on top.

Alexander Forest was meticulous; there was a note stuck to the box, indicating it contained a lipstick.

After pondering a moment, James Black tore off the note, took the box out, and then made the bag look untouched again. Carrying the box effortlessly, he went out and placed the box under Jane Sampson’s pillow.

When Jane Sampson came out of her bath, she flung off her slippers and hopped onto the bed with such force that, due to inertia, James Black was momentarily bounced a bit before settling down again.

”Behave,” James Black frowned, ”Don’t let it happen again.”

Hopping into bed like that, she wasn’t afraid of hurting herself.

The infamous nickname ”Monkey King of Sampson” well suited her to an impressive extent.

”Understood, Chief Black,” Jane Sampson stuck out her tongue and agreed, knowing she had gone too far.

Once she settled down and it was still early, she reached under the pillow for her mobile phone to browse for a while, but her hand encountered a square box before it touched the mobile phone.

”Eh? What’s this thing?” Jane Sampson pulled out the item in confusion and lit up when she saw the box, ”A gift?!”

She looked at James Black with joyful surprise, ”Is this from you?”

”Yes,” James Black nodded indifferently.

”Can I open it now?” Jane Sampson thought James Black was acting particularly out of the ordinary today.

But that didn’t diminish her mood to receive both flowers and gifts one bit.

”As you like,” James Black still nodded, but while his expression remained calm, his gaze lingered on Jane Sampson’s face.

Unwrap!

Jane Sampson sat cross-legged, quickly untied the bowknot, glanced up at James Black, and slowly opened the box. The moment she saw the contents, her joy was completely unhidden.

”Limited edition wand lipstick!” Jane Sampson exclaimed, holding the lipstick from the box as if it was a treasure, ”Why are you suddenly being so nice to me today? You’re so nice I’m almost not used to it.”

”Don’t you like it?” James Black asked, slightly raising an eyebrow.

”I like it!” Jane Sampson nodded without hesitation, and then asked, ”Do you know what color it is?”

”Color No.520,” James Black replied.

He knew that this was the lipstick most recommended by netizens online.

After James Black answered, seeing Jane Sampson’s strange expression as she looked at him, he asked, ”Is there a problem? Don’t you like this color?”

”Like it! Of course, I like it,” Jane Sampson nodded emphatically, ”I like it incredibly much.”

Seeing Jane Sampson’s genuine expression, James Black felt relieved.

As long as she liked it.

”However, I can understand sending flowers,” considering it a gesture of reconciliation from James Black, ”but why suddenly give me a gift?” Jane Sampson was thoroughly perplexed.
