CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 757: Chapter 765: Including Mother’s Day

”Don’t split hairs with me,” James Black stopped Jane Sampson in her tracks, ”If you’re complaining that I never celebrated Valentine’s Day with you before, then fine. Starting from the year we made our marriage contract, I’ll make up for all the gifts I never gave you on this year’s Valentine’s Day.”

”...” Why did he take it as her complaining about not having celebrated a single Valentine’s Day with her?

Wasn’t the point that she didn’t want to celebrate this Valentine’s Day?

Compensating from the time the marriage contract was made would be overkill, wouldn’t it?

Ten plus years of gifts, more than ten gifts, so many she probably wouldn’t even bother unwrapping them.

”No thanks! I don’t celebrate this holiday anyway!” Jane Sampson huffed.

Her way upstairs was blocked by James Black, so Jane Sampson turned around and ran toward the living room.

Halfway there, she stopped, turned her head to look at James Black, ”Unless you don’t want this watch, I’ll buy you something else, then there might be a possibility of celebrating this holiday.”

After speaking, Jane Sampson ran straight to the living room, lying down on the sofa in the living room as if dead, rigid as a board.

Spread-eagled, like an old rogue.

James Black stood at the staircase entrance for a while before walking over to Jane Sampson, looking down from a height at the beginning-to-play-dead Jane Sampson. Suddenly, he chuckled, ”Jane Sampson, you only have one husband like me, and yet, you’re so stingy with me. If you’re not spending that money on me, who else do you plan to spend it on?”

Jane Sampson glanced at James Black, then drew her legs up on the sofa, turned over, and put the back of her head towards James Black, acting as if she hadn’t heard a word he said, silent as a tomb.

She wouldn’t answer back for the life of her.

Anyway, this guy gets upset the minute he sees more than two bucks in her bank account.

Too many tricks up his sleeve, and if she engaged too much, who knows when he’d lead her down the garden path again.

”Playing dead won’t work.” James Black’s voice was soft, ”If you don’t celebrate this Valentine’s Day, then for the rest of your life, you can forget about celebrating it.”

The threat successfully made the eyebrows of the woman lying there twitch, but she still didn’t make a sound.

”Just this year, as long as you satisfy me, every year in the future, I’ll celebrate every possible holiday with you,” James Black sat down beside Jane Sampson’s waist, ”Women’s Day, International Valentine’s Day, 520, Chinese Valentine’s Day, as long as it’s a holiday, I’ll celebrate it with you.”

After a moment’s thought, James Black added, ”Including Mother’s Day in the future.”

”Pah! Who’s having your children!” Jane Sampson immediately sat up, irritated, ”I don’t care for you to celebrate Mother’s Day for me!”

James Black remained unshaken, knowing that when the right time came to have children, whether or not they’d have a child was still up to him.

His silly daughter-in-law was so easy to deceive.

James Black imperceptibly curled the corner of his mouth a fraction, nodding his head, ”Mother’s Day is a matter for later, but right now, all these holidays every year, do you really plan on never celebrating them in your whole life?”

”I do want to celebrate them,” Jane Sampson pouted her lips, it was so rare for him to be romantic, and yet, even his romance came with overbearing conditions, ”Can’t you ask for something cheaper as a gift?”

”Cheap ones don’t catch my eye,” James Black replied, unblushing and unwavering.

In fact, James Black still kept the leaf painting Jane Sampson gave him, he just never told her, so she didn’t know.

Anything she gave, James Black would cherish carefully.

But now, what James Black wanted was for her to be penniless, so at this time, the cheap ones, he had to feign disinterest.
