CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 747: Chapter 755: The Will

And her auntie and uncle don’t really need that part of the inheritance either.

At the time, he was often with the guard team. His decision to change the will stemmed from the realization that marrying Jane Sampson, he hadn’t truly fulfilled the responsibilities of a husband.

As long as he was alive, Jane Sampson would have him to rely on. But if one day, an accident were to claim his life, Jane would lose him as her husband. The Sampton Family wouldn’t be a warm haven for her, and James Black knew this even before Jane did. If he were to pass away, they wouldn’t show much love to the daughter whose husband had died.

If Granny Sampton and Grandpa Sampton were still alive, she would have their protection. But the elderly do get old and will eventually leave this world before her.

So, James Black thought that his inheritance would become her last resort and support when she reached the hardest step of her life.

He had never mentioned anything about his will to Jane Sampson before because he felt she hadn’t made up her mind about the Sampton Family yet. Therefore, the time wasn’t right for her to know.

Telling her now was because she had changed; she was no longer that Jane Sampson, who seemed so easy to push around.

However, if it hadn’t been for today’s conversation about money, James Black wouldn’t have suddenly brought up the will either.

”So, you don’t have to worry that you will be left with nothing if one day I’m not here anymore,” James Black said.

These words from James Black struck Jane like a thunderbolt, leaving her stunned.

Embracing James, bitterness filled the depths of Jane’s eyes.

In life, he fought desperately to keep her safe.

In death, he had considered how to let her live a carefree life.

Is that so?

In the ruins left by the earthquake, he used his powerful arms to create a space for her to breathe.

What was he thinking then?

Was it about staying alive as long as possible, and if not, to go in peace?

He had arranged all her paths in advance.

But the only thing he hadn’t anticipated was that she would die with him in that earthquake.

Jane Sampson’s heart trembled softly.

Even if he had never loved her, on this world, was James Black not the one who had treated her the best?

”So, if you ever find yourself in this situation again, you don’t have to be so upset about not having money,” James Black said, leaning down to kiss the top of her head, ”Although I can’t make you the world’s richest, ensuring that you have everything you need for the rest of your life is not a problem.”

Jane Sampson bit her lip gently, shaking her head and blurting out, ”It’s not about the money. I fear not having money less than not having you.”

Having said that, Jane finally couldn’t hold back her sobs, ”I’m afraid of you getting hurt, more afraid of you being in danger, afraid of you dying. You can be hurt, as long as you are still alive. I’m scared of being without you; on this world, I won’t find anyone else who treats me as well as you do.”

”No crying,” hearing the sobbing in Jane Sampson’s voice, James’s eyebrows immediately furrowed, his voice gentle yet tinged with helplessness.

”I’m not crying!” Jane Sampson retorted.

James Black leaned down to kiss the corner of her eye, ”Not crying? What did I just kiss then?”

”It’s water,” Jane responded.

”You’ve really perfected the art of stubborn denial to the highest degree,” James Black let out a long sigh, ”Since you’re already so worried and caring this much, why not care just a little more.”
