CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 736: Chapter 744: Replenish What You Eat

Alexander Forest nodded, agreeing, ”Right, he injured his hand, so I bought the front leg instead of the back leg.”

Is there something wrong?

It sounded like there was nothing wrong with that.

Jane Sampson’s mouth twitched as she put the stuff in her hands into the kitchen refrigerator.

When the boiled water was ready, Jane Sampson poured a cup for everyone; this wasn’t a permanent residence, so there weren’t things like tea leaves – everyone was very familiar with each other, and a cup of boiled water was enough to observe etiquette.

”It’s getting late, why don’t you all have dinner here tonight?” Jane asked the group, ”If you don’t have other plans for the evening, how about eating at mine? I’ll get Coco to buy some more vegetables later, and I will cook for you.”

John Young was the first to respond, straightforwardly accepting the offer.

”Sure, I’ve heard from James Carter about your great culinary skills, I didn’t expect to be so lucky to taste it tonight,” John Young said with genuine excitement, ”James Carter’s cooking is already excellent, and he says your skills are no less impressive than his.”

”I’m better at Western cuisine, and little Jane excels at Chinese cuisine,” praised James Carter, ”To each their own strength, but if you get too busy, I can help you out.”

”Then thanks in advance, Mr. Carter,” Jane Sampson didn’t stand on ceremony with James Carter, considering the number of guests tonight, apart from James Carter, none of the others seemed likely to be skilled cooks.

Having James Carter as her sous-chef would certainly make things much easier for her.

Having interacted with James Carter many times before, Jane Sampson wasn’t planning to be overly polite.

”We three also have no plans for tonight, so we will follow little Jane’s arrangement,” Quincy Forest raised her hand and said, ”I’ll take care of eating, and I can also help with washing the dishes!”

Jane Sampson took note of everyone’s preferences and then called Coco Edwards to have her buy some extra ingredients, mentioning the dinner at her home for the evening.

Jane Sampson did not have many friends, but everyone sitting here was someone she cherished very much.

For the dinner, she made a total of thirteen dishes; even with James Carter helping as sous-chef, Jane Sampson was quite worn out.

Yet, seeing everyone enjoying their meal happily, Jane Sampson felt that despite the tiredness, it was well worth it.

James Black was not one for many words, even amongst friends he tended to be quieter, but the lively atmosphere of the evening meant his silence didn’t seem too out of place.

During the meal, Jane Sampson sat beside James Black, looking after his stomach just like in the morning and at noon, using the same tableware for both of them, feeding one another until both were full.

Watching Jane Sampson feeding James Black, Alexander Forest felt a wave of envy.

”Having a wife really is different, with an injured hand yet having a wife to feed you, a bite for you, a bite for me, you’re part of me and I’m part of you. You two are really laying on the dog food thick,” Alexander Forest clicked his tongue three times, ”When I get a wife, I’ll have her feed me like that too.”

”Then, I’ll send you four pig’s legs,” James Black replied with a deep undertone.

”...” Alexander Forest was left at a loss for words.

James Black really knew how to seize the opportunity to strike back.

”Why can’t I simply have my wife and I feeding each other without having to worry about needing limbs replaced?” Alexander Forest snorted, ”The most venomous thing in the world can’t compare to your mouth, James Black.”

After saying that, Alexander Forest called out to Jane Sampson, ”Little Jane, don’t touch anything he’s touched or eaten, careful your man doesn’t poison you to death.”
