CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 732: Chapter 740: Leniency for Those Who Confess

It wasn’t exactly an accident, but it wasn’t quite accidental either—she got it right on her first try.

It was the same as his lock screen password.

After seeing the transfer success notification, Jane Sampson grinned with her small white teeth and laughed stealthily.

She laughed for two seconds, her hands never stopping their motions.

Perhaps it was due to excessive pride, so caught up in her joy, she didn’t notice when James Black had approached behind her. When his voice, coming almost right next to her ear, reached her, she was so startled that she dropped James Black’s phone on the ground with a loud clatter.

”What are you doing?” James Black’s gaze fell on his phone lying at Jane’s feet, repeating the question that had scared her.

”Nothing, I wasn’t doing anything,” Jane replied, feeling very guilty as she quickly picked up the phone. Seeing that James Black wasn’t angry, she breathed a sigh of relief.

Dropping his phone, and he wasn’t even upset.

Good, good.

So, if she confessed, he wouldn’t get mad either, right?

Jane thought it over, reopened WhatsAPP, then displayed the page of the deed she had just done on the mobile phone screen. Turning slowly to face James Black, head bowed as if offering a sacrifice, she placed his phone in her palm and slowly lifted it towards him.

”Here, look, I really didn’t do anything outrageous,” Jane said in a soft voice, ”I just transferred some money from you.”

To show that she really only transferred a little bit of money, Jane narrowed her eyes as she spoke and even made a small gesture with two fingers to James Black.

After waiting a few seconds and seeing James Black just looking at her, not even glancing at his own mobile phone, Jane thought he was upset, so she boldly retorted, ”Being angry won’t help! Whose fault is it that you put my money into financial management? There are only two dollars in my bank account, how can I spend that? I don’t have much cash on me either, and the key thing is, nowadays when you go out, few people take cash, they always say they can’t make change.”

”Do I look angry?” James Black raised his eyebrows, merely curious about what Jane was doing behind his back, stealthily. As for the amount she transferred, he couldn’t care less, not one bit.

Be it a lot or a little.

His was also hers, wasn’t it?

James’ counterquestion left Jane totally befuddled.

Kind of.

But not quite.

In any case, without a smile or some expression from him, no one would know what he was feeling at the moment, unless they had mind-reading abilities.

But since he said he wasn’t angry, Jane relaxed. She stood up, bypassed James Black, put his phone back in the drawer, then took out her own phone from her pocket and quickly accepted the money she had transferred from James Black’s WhatsAPP.

Sneaking a peek at James Black, who was still watching her, Jane boldly took a screenshot in front of him, then sat on his sickbed, swinging her legs leisurely as she rapidly tapped on her phone. In just a few seconds, she posted a new Moments update.

Yeah, take a look, everyone. No talking now.

If James Black were to look at his phone at this moment, he’d see that the screenshot from Jane’s new Moments post was, in fact, from his WhatsAPP transferring money to her account.

Three transfers in total.

One was 1314.

The second was 520.

The third was 999.

Just like Jane said, indeed not much—adding all three together amounted to just over 2,000 bucks.
