CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 478: Chapter 486: What Kind of Cooperation Can There Be?

Jane Sampson took leave from the film crew, and Elizabeth King really did find herself with some free time. That afternoon, she chatted and talked with Mandy Forest’s assistant at Mandy’s resting spot, occasionally helping run errands for her.

During a break, Mandy Forest specially took a round inside the crew to find that Jane Sampson was nowhere in sight. After returning to her resting spot, Mandy saw Elizabeth’s smiling face and casually asked, ”Why does it seem like I didn’t see Jane this afternoon? She had no scenes?”

”Oh, Sister Jane has taken a couple of days off and just left the crew this afternoon,” Elizabeth King responded. ”She’s gone to Springtown.”

”Springtown?” Mandy Forest’s grip on her water cup tightened slightly. ”Do you know what she went to Springtown for? Why didn’t she take you, her assistant, with her?”

”Of course, she went to see Mr. Carter. Sister Jane and Mr. Carter still have work that isn’t finished. Since it’s closer to Springtown here, she took two days off to make a trip there,” Elizabeth King explained. ”Sister Jane said there wasn’t much for me to do, so she told me to stay and wait for her in the crew.”

”What kind of cooperation can an actor and a singer have?” Mandy Forest nonchalantly placed the water cup on the table, her gaze drifting past the now empty spot where Jane Sampson should have been.

”Sister Mandy Forest, this is something you might not know, but our Sister Jane is not only good at acting. She sings beautifully too, and even Mr. Carter has praised her. Oh, and our Sister Jane also plays the piano exceptionally well. Previously, Mr. Carter even said that whenever a singer becomes an actor, it’s a loss for the music realm. So, Mr. Carter has very high comments for our Sister Jane!” Elizabeth King could always find many aspects of Jane Sampson’s talents to praise.

She truly admired Jane Sampson and did so from the bottom of her heart because Jane was excellent and worked harder than ordinary people. Sometimes when Elizabeth played with her mobile phone till midnight, she noticed that the light in Jane’s room was still on.

”I seem to have heard that Jane Sampson studied piano before her debut. From her childhood, she participated in many competitions, big and small, and won numerous international awards,” added Mandy Forest’s assistant. ”You can find all this information on the internet.”

Mandy Forest did not continue to speak, but in her downcast eyes, a few traces of her real emotions were hidden.

Her inner feelings were not as nonchalant as they appeared on the surface.

In James Carter’s studio, Jane Sampson and James Carter had buried themselves in the recording room for an entire afternoon and did not come out. After more than an hour of practice, they started the official recording.

Although Jane Sampson had always known that James Carter was meticulous about his work and was known for setting high standards and requirements, only when they actually started recording did Jane understand that the word ”meticulous” could describe such an extreme level.

If even a single breath was off, James Carter insisted on re-recording.

Fortunately, the two had a high degree of harmony. The work they had planned to complete the next morning was unexpectedly finished ahead of schedule.

By the time they stepped out of the recording room, it was already past eight o’clock at night. Jane hadn’t felt hungry while busy inside, but as soon as she relaxed, an overwhelming wave of fatigue hit her.

”You’ve worked hard all day today. I’ll take you back to the hotel later, and you can have your dinner delivered to your room,” James Carter intended to treat Jane Sampson to a nice dinner. However, seeing her weary face and knowing she had come straight to the studio after getting off the airplane, and spent the afternoon without anything to eat or any rest except for a glass of water, he decided not to invite her out for a meal anymore.
