CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 452: Chapter 460: Biting The Hand That Feeds You

Whoa, wait a minute! She had hardly even had a chance to speak, okay?

Decide my ass!

Meanwhile, at the guard team office, someone who’d just hung up the phone, holding his mobile phone, stood alone in front of the office window and curled the corners of his mouth into a smile.

Although the call had ended and he couldn’t hear the woman’s reaction on the other side, James Black could imagine it.

At this time, Jane Sampson must have been holding her mobile phone, cursing him out in her mind, all huffy.

Just thinking about her glaring and stomping her feet, a twinge of regret flashed through James Black’s heart. What a pity he couldn’t see it.

”Jane Sampson, are you done with the phone call? Hurry up and come have some fruits!” Over there, Harry Humming was holding a watermelon, patting it and calling for Jane Sampson to join them.

Jane Sampson tucked away her mobile phone, responded, and then jogged back.

”The village has a big water vat filled with water piped directly from the mountain, and at this time, the water is very icy. Everyone suggested dragging these fruits over there to chill in the well water, so that by one o’clock, after we’re done filming and it’s lunch break, they’d be perfect to eat,” said Harry Humming. ”Take a look at what you want to eat and also take it over to chill.”

”Alright.” Jane Sampson picked up one box of cherries, ”I’ll chill this.”

As soon as Jane Sampson arrived, those who were originally gathered around selecting fruits turned to talk to her instead, taking the fruits she’d brought. They made sure to thank her, not being shy with Jane. Whatever they wanted, they took some, because really, the fruits were as plentiful as if they’d come in a tractor-load, there was no need to be polite with Jane Sampson.

”Director Wilson loves mangoes, I’ve picked out about ten for you over there, the bigger, yellower ones, and I’ve also selected some other fruits for him. Later, when you see Director Wilson coming by, take them over to him yourself,” Harry Humming whispered a few words to Jane Sampson.

”Thanks a lot.” Jane Sampson understood that Harry Humming was reminding her not to forget to curry favor with Director Wilson when the opportunity arose. Although Director Wilson wasn’t the kind of person who sought power, offering fruits like this wasn’t very noticeable, didn’t take much effort, and wouldn’t seem overly deliberate, but it could still achieve the same goal.

”No problem, no problem, after all, those who take gifts are beholden,” Harry Humming joked with Jane Sampson and then happily trotted off with the watermelon.

”Sister Jane, are these fruits from Mr. Black?” Elizabeth King, carrying a small bag of fruits, approached Jane Sampson, smiling as she spoke, ”These fruits look so fresh, many even seem like they were plucked from the tree branches this morning. The lychees from the southland at this time are delicious, Sister Jane, but they don’t keep well, so hurry and take some over to the well for chilling. In half an hour, they’ll be ready to eat.”

After saying that, Elizabeth King jiggled the stuff in her hand and added, ”Sister Mandy Forest is still filming over there. I heard before that she likes lychees, so I’m going to take some over. Otherwise, when Sister Mandy Forest is done with her scene, there probably won’t be any lychees left.”

Watching Elizabeth King sprint away with the bag toward where Mandy Forest was, the corners of Jane Sampson’s mouth twitched almost imperceptibly.

Forget it, it’s pretty pointless to fuss with a person who’s short on sense.

Jane Sampson carried the fruits Harry Humming had selected for her and went to find Director Wilson. When she arrived, he seemed to be in conversation with someone else. Seeing Jane Sampson, Director Wilson quickly waved her over.

”How about you guys start with interviewing her and a few other actors for now? Mandy Forest and Shirley Young are in the middle of filming. Interviewing these actors would do just the same.”
