CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 333: Chapter 341: I’m Not Angry

James Black turned the page of the newspaper on his knee, and although he seemed to say nothing, his answer to Jane Sampson was that there was no need to explain.

Jane Sampson’s little heart quivered with irritation. She reached out to grab the newspaper on James’s knee and throw it away, but the moment her little paw stretched out, James’s gaze swept over her, and she ended up smoothing out a corner of the newspaper for him instead.

Ugh, the more timid, the more annoyed.

”James, look, kissing someone on the cheek is very different from kissing them on the lips. A cheek kiss is like a sign of friendship between friends. Nina and I have been kissing each other’s cheeks since we were little. If it were a kiss on the lips, I would definitely use position substitution, but a cheek kiss, you see, you let me...”

Jane had only gotten that far in her explanation, not yet finished, when James suddenly bowed his head and kissed her on the face.

Jane was stunned for a moment, then bristled, ”What are you doing!”

”Huh.”

James’s voice was cold, ”You get this upset over a kiss on the cheek, yet it seems you’re quite looking forward to others kissing your cheek.”

Jane was baffled by James’s approach.

She blinked her eyes, furious one second, but the next second she burst into laughter, blooming like a flower.

”I’m not mad, not angry, really not angry.” It was just a little bit anyway. Who made him interrupt her suddenly? But at this time, even if it was just a little bit, she couldn’t let James see it.

Seeing that James had fallen silent again, Jane took his arm, pressing her face against his, ”Look, don’t believe me? Kiss me again, and I definitely won’t get mad.”

Jane noticed James glance at her and turn away. She directly pouted and moved closer to him. She meant to kiss his cheek but because the angle was off, ended up kissing the corner of his mouth.

After kissing him, she sat back giggling, ”See, I really am not the least bit mad.”

James’s fingertips pinched the newspaper unnaturally, his gaze lingering on Jane’s lips for a few seconds, her little pink lips, the sensation of kissing kin, seemed quite pleasant.

”James, think about it, if it’s a kiss on the lips, using position substitution is one thing, but for a cheek kiss, if I go back and tell the second male lead I can’t do it, that I need position substitution, what would he think of me? He might think I’m crazy,” Jane continued to persuade him earnestly, ”I promise, there’s only this one kiss on the cheek scene in the whole show, no kisses on the lips at all, and if there were, I definitely wouldn’t do it.”

”You see those veteran artists on TV, those old predecessors, for the sake of acting, they’ve sacrificed so much. It’s not just about a kiss on the face or lips, there are even more serious...”

”Jane Sampson, don’t even think about it.” James put the paper aside from his knee, wrapped his arm around Jane’s waist, and his face closed in on hers, ”Don’t talk to me about artists. I can’t do it, so I, James Black, can’t be an artist either. Anyway, my wife, my woman, why should she be kissing someone else? Hmm?”

After speaking, James’s face was nearly touching Jane’s, and she swallowed her saliva with considerable difficulty, managing to utter a sound after a long while.

Well, the gentle approach failed too.

Jane looked at James with frustration, feeling that he was doing this on purpose, eager for her to give up her acting career so he loaded her with so many conditions.

Fine, time to compromise.

Let them consider her crazy, so be it.

Besides, if it really doesn’t work out, when she gets to the film crew, and the second male lead actually does kiss her, by the time the show is broadcasted, who knows what her situation with James would be.
