CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 269: Chapter 277: An Accident

”Fortunately, it did not involve the bone, but you still need to get plenty of rest for a while and avoid using this hand,” the doctor advised Jane Sampson after reviewing her X-rays.

When Jane Sampson left the hospital, her right hand had completely lost its freedom, suspended in front of her.

Seeing herself in costume with her hand in a sling, Jane Sampson couldn’t help but find her situation a bit comical.

”I’ve booked a hotel for you. I’ll take you there now, and Jasmine Seven, could you help your friend change clothes and pack up? Then I’ll take you out for a meal.”

Jane Sampson looked down at her black costume, its arm cut open, with an inner layer also slashed to create a bell sleeve effect. Coupled with her headpiece, it was no wonder she was turning so many heads in the hospital.

”Cousin really is thoughtful,” Quincy Forest flattered Kane Forest, and with Assistant King’s help, they supported Jane Sampson into Kane Forest’s car and headed to the hotel.

Just as Quincy Forest mentioned, Kane Forest was indeed thorough. There were four rooms booked at the hotel, including one for Daniel Taylor’s assistant, Assistant King.

Since it was already late at night, Assistant King would not be able to make it back to the small town.

In the car on the way to the hotel, Jane Sampson made a call to Daniel Taylor to update him on her condition. Hearing that the injury wasn’t to her bone, Daniel Taylor breathed a sigh of relief.

”Thank goodness you’re okay, otherwise I would feel terribly guilty. Your Sister Tin entrusted you to me with total confidence,” Daniel Taylor said. ”Also, since your luggage was already brought down, why don’t you and Quincy Forest head back to Capital Province first? Rest up at home, and by the time your hand is nearly healed, we’ll probably have wrapped up filming in this little town. If you want to continue learning and have the time, just give me a call then, and we’ll make arrangements for your stay and pick-up with the film crew.”

”Okay, thank you, Brother-in-law,” Jane Sampson said. She knew Daniel Taylor enjoyed when she called him that, but due to previously being on set, and it being a work environment, she had always addressed him as Director Taylor along with everyone else.

It was only in private situations like this that Jane Sampson would call him Brother-in-law, charming Daniel Taylor into hearty laughter.

”Today’s accident was indeed caused by equipment malfunction, and I apologize on behalf of the film crew for not meeting the mark and causing you concern,” Daniel Taylor earnestly apologized. After Jane Sampson left, he personally went to inspect it and found that it was indeed a machine fault without any signs of tampering.

Daniel Taylor was also relieved, as an accident was always preferable to deliberate harm; he did not want anyone in his crew who didn’t take human life seriously.

”I’m fine now, just taking the chance to rest a bit. So Brother-in-law, make sure you get some rest early tonight too,” Jane Sampson said, trusting that when Daniel Taylor said it was an accident, it really was and she also trusted that the world wasn’t so cruel-hearted.

In truth, from the very start, Jane Sampson was more inclined to believe she had just been unlucky enough to encounter an accident.

Upon reaching the hotel, Quincy Forest first went to Jane Sampson’s room to help her change clothes and remove her makeup, fussing over her like an old woman, cautioning her to be careful while taking a bath. Quincy Forest stayed until Jane Sampson had finished her bath and was settled before finally returning to her own room with peace of mind.

Lying back in bed and turning on her mobile phone, Jane Sampson realized that it was yet another weekend.

And the time when James Black had promised to come home once a month had also arrived.
