CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 236: Chapter 244: This Photo Was Taken Well

”Thank you.” Jane Sampson took the mobile phone and ran back to Old Master Black with a smile after thanking him.

Ever since last time Old Master Black helped Jane Sampson retrieve her photo from James Black’s hands, her relationship with Old Master Black had become much closer. During this period, Jane often chatted with Old Master Black on WhatsAPP, and he was also keen on liking her Moments, so Jane no longer felt intimidated by Old Master Black as she did before.

”Grandfather, there are a few more photos on James Black’s mobile phone.” Jane Sampson, holding James Black’s phone, gave it a shake towards Old Master Black and then tapped on the screen, causing her to pause.

The wallpaper on James Black’s mobile phone screen had changed; it was no longer the one with her making a funny face from before, but a group photo of her and him from yesterday afternoon.

In the photo on the mobile phone screen, she had already taken off her sunglasses and mask, wearing only one scarf and holding onto James Black’s hand. She didn’t know why she looked up at James Black at the moment the photo was taken, turning her face to the side and smiling goofily like an idiot.

Even more surprisingly, at the moment the photo was snapped, the corner of James Black’s mouth was slightly turned up as if he was smiling.

”Hmm, this one was taken well.” Old Master Black leaned over to take a look and called Brooke Black over, ”You come and see too, isn’t this one pretty good-looking?”

”How is this good-looking? I’m not even showing my full face.” Jane Sampson pouted in dissatisfaction, ”Is James Black being petty, intentionally using this photo for his mobile phone wallpaper?”

”It looks very nice; you can tell you two have a good relationship just by looking at it,” Brooke Black laughed. ”Even though your full face isn’t showing, the way you’re looking up at James Black and smiling so happily conveys enough feeling to make the photo worthwhile.”

A good relationship?

Jane Sampson massaged her forehead, realizing her auntie probably didn’t know that the ’couple with a good relationship’ she spoke of had been having a Cold War just before they entered the Black Residence’s gate.

Jane Sampson also didn’t quite understand why James Black suddenly wore a cold expression for no good reason.

Old Master Black liked to see Jane Sampson and James Black getting along well, so all the photos on James Black’s phone were group photos with her. Old Master Black praised every single one, going through ten or twenty photos without repeating a single compliment.

Jane Sampson didn’t see Peter Gingery return home even when it was time to eat, and upon asking, learned that the rascal really used the excuse that there was an urgent matter with the guard team and that he wouldn’t be coming back.

The corners of Jane Sampson’s mouth nearly twitched at his lame excuse.

During the meal, Old Master Black asked about Jane Sampson’s work, referring to the last time she participated in Mr. Humming’s show recording.

”Those two fake lovers, young people these days, they fake everything: fake noses, fake eyes, fake appearances. I can understand all of these since everyone loves beauty, but to have a fake relationship, now that’s just disgraceful,” he said.

Even as an open-minded senior, Old Master Black couldn’t stand these kinds of deceitful acts, ”Though it’s for publicity, there should at least be a line you don’t cross. Jane, I must caution you not to engage in such behavior.”

”I won’t, I definitely won’t,” Jane Sampson quickly declared her stance.

”Right, do you know about the incident that happened after the recording ended?” Brooke Black suddenly spoke, ”Has your cousin, Julie Sampton, lost her mind?”

”What?” Jane Sampson shook her head, ”I left right after the show was done recording.”

”Julie Sampton reported to the police that she lost a very expensive bracelet and said someone told her they saw a makeup artist named Jasmine Seven stealing it. The police even got involved, but that bracelet wasn’t found on Jasmine Seven; a cleaner found it in the garbage dump instead,” Brooke Black explained.

Such news didn’t even need Brooke Black to personally inquire; it was bound to reach Jane’s ears, ”Is Julie Sampton out of her mind? Didn’t she check the person’s identity before making such accusations? Jasmine Seven is Alexander Forest’s sister, the heiress of the Forest Clan Group. Would she covet Julie’s lousy bracelet?”
