CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 225: Chapter 233: When You Praise Me for Being Thin

Time seemed to suddenly freeze in this moment.

The wind and sand were still fierce around her ears, and there he was, quietly crouching in front of her, not uttering another word.

”James Black,” Jane Sampson called out to the man crouched there, but after calling his name, she didn’t know what she wanted to say.

”What? Afraid I’ll drop you?” James Black scoffed after seeing Jane Sampson motionless for a while, ”With your tiny frame, even two of you wouldn’t be a problem.”

Jane Sampson’s lips moved, and then she suddenly laughed, ”I’ll take that as a compliment on how slim I am.”

”Bragging,” James Black corrected Jane.

”...”

If it weren’t for the fact that she really couldn’t walk any longer, Jane thought, at this moment, she would definitely be a proud Jane Sampson, striding forward. Of course, it would have been perfect if she had the courage to push the man who called her bragging down the mountain.

”Get on.” Thinking Jane was hesitant because she didn’t move, James Black had seen her level of stubbornness last night, so he reached out and pulled Jane toward him.

Jane half-heartedly climbed onto James Black’s back. True to his words, one of her didn’t pose a burden to him.

When he stood up with her on his back, he was very steady, and just as steady when he walked.

Looking around, on James Black’s back, Jane was definitely an oddity. There were many couples playing here, but at most, they held hands, with boyfriends standing behind their girlfriends to protect them.

James Black was tall, and his back was very solid.

In the beginning, Jane was a bit apprehensive, worried that James might get tired and drop her, but later, when she heard that even his breathing wasn’t strained, she started to get playful.

Her long legs intentionally swayed from side to side around James’s waist, and she even cheekily lay on his shoulder and called out softly, ”Giddy up!”

Jane’s hands circled in front of James, her face twisting around to look at the scenery, and indeed, being tall allowed her to see a completely different view.

”Jane Sampson,” James, holding Jane’s knees, shifted his hand back and slapped her on the buttocks, scolding her, ”Move around again, and I’ll toss you down.”

Still pretending to ride? Did she think he was a horse?

Even Oliver Black’s son wouldn’t dare to be so triumphant on his back when he was a child, but she seemed to be having a great time.

She was the only one he had carried since Oliver Black’s son, and even the child had been much better behaved than her.

After that reprimand, Jane immediately quieted down.

James didn’t turn his head, so he didn’t see the redness of Jane’s face.

She had never been smacked like that her entire life!

To speak is to speak; to react with violence without a word of argument! And to use violence, no less! If you dare, slap the face! Slap...

What was the point of smacking the buttocks?!

All Jane had in mind at that moment was a single thought, how much she wanted to bite James Black to death!

With James carrying her, they moved up the mountain much faster. The closer the people ahead of them got to the top, the more often they rested, which meant James and Jane were walking with intermittent stops.

James’s physical fitness made onlookers envious, with the girls who had come out with their boyfriends secretly pinching their boyfriends.

”Look at him, carrying his girlfriend all the way up the mountain without a single complaint!”

Listening to the couple’s conversation behind her, Jane couldn’t help but feel amused inwardly. Envious? Just envy will get you nowhere, come on, girl, go ahead, take your turn!

Perhaps feeling spurned by his girlfriend, the boyfriend grew impatient and retorted, ”If you were as slender as his girlfriend, I’d carry you up too!”
