CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 204: Chapter 212: No Reply

”Troubles? What troubles could this little matter possibly cause?” Jane Sampson scoffed. ”It just caught my eye momentarily, never took it to heart.”

Peter Gingery really wanted to say that Jane was stubborn as a dead duck, but then he felt that exposing her faux strength seemed a bit cruel, so he pretended to believe her.

Jane truly hadn’t taken the matter to heart and didn’t follow up on William Rivers and Sophie Young in the following days. Her verified twitter account did not utter a word about this incident.

As it happened, the ordeal turned out to be a blessing in disguise; her popularity surged thanks to the incident with William and Sophie. Many came to know of her existence, and her silence earned her the sympathy of many, leading to a whole host of new, compassion-based fans.

Jane spent another half a month at the film and TV base before the film crew arranged everyone’s flight to the northwest. The originally scheduled outdoor scenes had been pushed back to this time.

Two days before departure, Daniel Taylor saw Jane excitedly scouring Capital Province’s tourist attractions on her pad and started to remind her, ”Most of the places we’ve chosen to film are in high altitude regions. Don’t get too excited when you get there. The more ecstatic you are, the worse your acute high-altitude disease will get.”

Of course, after thinking it over, Daniel added another line, ”Don’t get excited too early and don’t plan ahead too much or you might just end up as a salted fish because of the high altitude illness.”

”I’m pretty resistant!” Jane patted her slender arm.

”We have half a day to rest this afternoon, and I plan to go to Capital Province after lunch to see your Sister Tin. Do you want to go home and visit your family?” Daniel was more excited about finally having the afternoon free to visit Rock Bell, considering it a silver lining to his health issues, at least Sister Tin would call every now and then to remind him to take his medicine.

Daniel felt that after being nagged by Rock Bell to take his medicine for so long, it felt as sweet as eating candy.

”Not going back!” Jane replied with decisive briskness. Today was Friday, and tomorrow, dammit, was Saturday. If she went back home tonight, James Black would most certainly return as well!

She didn’t want to spend even one day out of the three weeks advance!

Not one hour, not even one minute!

Lately, Jane hadn’t contacted James at all, but she was almost constantly on the phone with Peter every night before sleep, and if not, they’d be in the game mocking each other’s poor skills.

After lunch, everyone went their own way to manage their schedules. The flight was set for 7:40 p.m. tomorrow night, which meant everyone practically had a day and an afternoon to themselves.

Jane went straight back to the hotel. Hearing that Jane wasn’t going home, Quincy Forest also cancelled her high-speed train ticket, resolved to stay at the hotel and join Jane in gaming.

”Oh, by the way, goddess, do you know that William Rivers and Sophie Young really got banned?” Quincy and Jane lay side by side on the hotel bed, each holding a fruit phone and playing a game.

Quincy’s skills were so poor that her game character died in no time, so feeling rather bored, she admired the goddess Jane right next to her, free from any idol pretenses, while marveling at Jane’s godlike gaming and simultaneously carrying a conversation with her.

”Haven’t paid attention. What kind of ban is it?” Perhaps a result of practicing piano from a young age, Jane’s ability to multitask was second nature, making using both the right and left sides of her brain at the same time a piece of cake.
