CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 190: Chapter 198: It Depends on Its Master

How long does it take a woman to take a bath?

Half an hour?

Or an hour?

Clearly, Jane was the latter, taking bubble baths, applying facial masks, and then layering skincare products onto her face. By the time she emerged from the bathroom, glimmering with moisture, an hour had gone by.

Just as she stepped out of the bathroom, she heard her mobile phone ringing. Jane hurriedly sat on the bed and fished the phone out from the pile of clothes. Glancing at it, the call was again from James Black.

How many calls was this guy going to make to her today?

One after another—is there no end to this?

Jane answered the call with rolled eyes and placed the phone to her ear, ”May I ask what command you have for me this time, Grand Chief Black?”

James Black had made several calls on this one day, matching the total he would make in a full year before.

Take last year for example. The sum of all the calls he made wasn’t even close to the number he had racked up today. Had he taken the wrong medicine?

”Why aren’t you replying to the text messages?” James’s voice was rigid, ”It’s so late, are you still outdoors?”

”I’ve been back in my room for quite a while now, I was just taking a bath.” Jane pursed her lips; did his text message really need a response? She couldn’t think of anything to reply with.

Hearing that Jane had returned, James’s tone softened quite a bit. However, Jane thought that if he didn’t bring up the three-week topic again, she might have been willing to chat with him for the cost of a couple of cents worth of call fee.

But when James, after the text notification, added a voice message reminder that she only had three weeks left to go home—no, to see him—Jane really felt like throwing the phone in his smug, handsome face through the air.

”Three weeks,” James stated.

On Jane’s face was a broad smile, but her heart was enlarged and emboldened with the three words equivalent of ”f**k my life.”

”Alright, I understand, I’ll comply, Chief Black.” Jane agreed amiably, but after hanging up the phone, already on the verge of exploding, she became thoroughly infuriated by herself in the room upon seeing another unread text message.

The new text message was also sent by James, consisting of a photo with a line of text.

Text as follows:

Whether this ugly rabbit ends up in the trash bin downstairs in three weeks depends on whether its owner behaves.

The picture was of rabbit Kris, with his face to the floor and splayed out under the bed, kicked there by James.

Ah!!!!

James Black, you and I are sworn enemies!!!!

Fuming on the spot, this sentence became Jane Sampson’s newest WhatsAPP status, destined to remain in place for a very, very long time.

One night, upon awakening in the early morning, City C faced another day of smog.

Although Jane hadn’t started filming yet, she dutifully followed Daniel Taylor to the film and TV base. She rode in Daniel’s car and had breakfast bought by his assistant.

”The show you recorded with Mr. Humming last time will be broadcast tonight. They released a thirty-second trailer last night, and it included a few seconds of you, your performance was good.” This was rare praise from Daniel Taylor ever since Jane had joined the film crew.

Jane uttered a surprised sound and quickly took out her phone to check twitter.

Last night, after filming ended, she went for a late-night snack with everyone, and after the snack, she went back to take a bath. Usually, she would check her phone before sleep, but because she was so angry with James last night, she went straight to bed without touching her phone at all. This morning, she had to hurry out on time, not even having the chance to pick up her phone.
