CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 180: Chapter 188: One More Knife Stab

Jane Sampson’s negotiating tone made James Black’s dissatisfaction fade slightly.

”When will you be back?” James Black asked.

When?

Jane Sampson began to seriously contemplate this very serious question.

Her part in the drama wasn’t large, but Daniel Taylor intended for her to learn by following the entire film crew throughout the production, so, on completion of the whole drama, it should take about three months, right?

Jane Sampson counted on her fingers and then provided this approximate number, ”It should be about three months.”

Jane Sampson was about to add that it was just three months, not a long time, but James Black on the other end didn’t give her any chance; as soon as she mentioned approximately three months, he didn’t say a word, only leaving the buzzing sound for her.

What happened?

Hearing the buzzing sound from the phone, Jane Sampson was confused. Could it be that James Black’s phone suddenly ran out of battery and turned off, so the call got cut off?

”Jane Sampson.”

Over there, Daniel Taylor’s roaring voice carried ten miles away to shout at Jane Sampson, ”I look away for just a blink of an eye, and you’re already sneaking off to slack off in a corner? Get back here this instant! If you don’t learn well, watch out for when you get to drama school, I’ll cut you down a peg a day!”

The Daniel Taylor at work and the one in private were absolutely two different people.

Just like before she joined the film crew, Jane Sampson could never have imagined Daniel Taylor capable of yelling at someone like this.

Jane Sampson, holding her phone, rushed back to Daniel Taylor’s side and explained in a low voice, ”Brother-in-law, my sister was being lazy, just now I was taking a call from family, okay?”

”Your Sister Tin’s? Checking again if I’ve taken my meds?” Daniel Taylor’s tone was much softer.

Jane Sampson blinked her eyes, gauging if she denies it, how likely she was to continue being berated by Daniel Taylor. Over these past few days, Jane Sampson had gotten a feel for Daniel Taylor’s temper. In his presence, only when Rock Bell was mentioned would his temper be slightly more controlled.

Of course, just slightly.

”Right, brother-in-law, how long will it take for us to finish shooting this drama?” Jane Sampson still remembered the question James Black just asked her.

”About four to five months, plus various complicated tasks in post-production, waiting for the release will take some time,” Daniel Taylor said, ”During this period, if you don’t have other work, you should stay longer in the crew to learn. I can’t guarantee for other crews, but in mine, nobody gets a free meal.”

”Okay! Okay!” Jane Sampson nodded like a good baby repeatedly, and after Daniel Taylor walked away again, she took out her mobile phone to send a text message to James Black, before sitting back down in her chair to continue learning and observing, to be her three-good student.

In the guard team corner, James Black threw his phone into the drawer after hanging up, sitting on the chair with a morose demeanor, radiating a ’don’t bother me now’ aura.

The mobile phone inside the drawer buzzed, indicating a new text message. James Black immediately checked it, initially planning to ignore it, but then he thought that he had hung up earlier, so it could be a text message from Jane Sampson.

With this thought, he reached out, took the phone from the drawer, and glanced at the new text message.

After reading it in one go, James Black was deeply skeptical. Was Jane Sampson trying to anger him even more by supplementing her earlier remarks with a text message?

I will likely be wrapped up with work over here in about four to five months. — Sender: Wife.

The ’Wife’ at the end was James Black’s contact remark for Jane Sampson’s phone number and naturally couldn’t be a self-reference from Jane Sampson.
