CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 165: Chapter 173: The Lowest Artists

Five words, and Jane Sampson’s tightly drawn smile bloomed into a sunflower. She then quickly signed her name, agreeing to it.

But after signing, Jane’s face fell as she looked at the other guests invited to the show. Then she held Rock Bell’s arm and asked, ”Honestly, in the eyes of this show, I am still a bottom-tier artist, right?”

Wow, she caught on fast?

Rock Bell patted Jane’s arm, smiling gently, and said, ”Don’t worry, the editing director of this show is an old friend of mine. So getting you a few extra shots is a piece of cake.”

Even with ten or eight more, she was still a minor figure, for now.

The list had four A-listers, two or three from the second-third tier, and at worst a newcomer with one TV series and one web drama under their belt. Only she, Jane, well, for now, lacked any work to her name.

”Be content, this opportunity was originally saved for old acquaintances to promote their new work. Matthew Chip was the initial choice, but then the editing director, upon seeing you, suggested on the fly to switch you in,” he explained.

Mainly because there were more male guests than female guests on stage that day. Another Matthew Chip would not stand out in front of the seniors, but switching to Jane Sampson might just offer her a chance to chip in a couple of sentences.

After discussing it with Daniel Taylor, Rock Bell also felt that replacing Matthew with Jane would be somewhat more effective. After all, in terms of internet popularity, Jane Sampson’s had been as high as Matthew’s these past few days, not a bit lower.

Moreover, this was Jane’s first public appearance. As long as the program crew and Rock Bell’s company put some effort into the publicity, the show’s outcomes after the broadcast should not be too bad.

Because of this work, so Jane only attended a start-up ceremony in City C before Rock Bell whisked her away back to the Capital Province. Despite her busy schedule with scripts, Jane still found time to check the behind-the-scenes fun shared by the film crew in the WhatsAPP group.

Honestly, seeing everyone so jolly in the group, Jane really couldn’t wait to finish her obligations in the Capital Province and return to the film crew.

The show revealed the official guest list only two days before the recording, and Jane was not at all surprised that amidst those A-listers, she was hardly mentioned, and indeed, her name had vanished from the hot topic list, replaced by the newest couple to announce their relationship.

William Rivers and Sophie Young, both guests on the show, had just wrapped up a TV series a couple of months ago, currently a hit. The two were the male and female leads, and their recent revelation of a romance had given a strong boost to both the show and their personal popularity.

Seeing the photos of these two lovebirds on her mobile phone, Jane felt a pang of enamel discomfort.

As someone who had experienced rebirth, she knew it wouldn’t be long before they split up, and the reason for their breakup would be the scandalous reveal that their so-called romance was nothing more than a publicity stunt for the show, further exacerbated by photos of Sophie Young entering a hotel with a certain wealthy heir.

In essence, the higher the current popularity of William Rivers and Sophie Young, the more ferocious would be the criticism they’d face once the news of them using their relationship for publicity and Sophie being kept by someone broke.
