CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 59: Chapter 67: Realizing the Mistake

Jane Sampson had to admit, the moment the ice cream touched her taste buds, she truly felt enveloped by a sensation of happiness.

However, when she attempted to pay with her mobile phone and was repeatedly reminded that the password was wrong too many times and it had been locked, requiring a visit to the bank to unfreeze before it could be used again, Jane Sampson really felt a sense of despair as if the sky had collapsed.

She didn’t even need to ask to know; it must have been James Black who deliberately locked both her payment methods while taking her phone, just by entering a wrong password several times, the payment got locked.

Jane Sampson could only say that once James Black decided to prevent her from doing something, he could really achieve foolproof results.

In terms of IQ, she really couldn’t outwit James Black, that sly fox!

Jane Sampson’s shout about divorcing James Black startled the cashier girl, and James Black’s expression darkened noticeably.

”Sorry, but today is Saturday, and the Civil Affairs Office is closed,” the cashier girl chimed in weakly before adding, ”Two vanilla ice creams; that’s 30 bucks. Will you be paying by card or cash?”

Jane Sampson looked at James Black, who said nothing. Her wallet had been taken by James Black, and she still hadn’t gotten it back yet. Her mobile payment was locked, so what about paying by card or cash?

She felt like asking, could she pay by shamelessness?

If that was an option, she’d pay with James Black’s shamelessness.

”How did you come here with the Great General just now?” James Black asked.

”Via the Uber in the WhatsAPP wallet!” Jane Sampson rolled her eyes and huffed, ”I haven’t paid for it yet!”

If she had paid the fare immediately after getting down from the car, she wouldn’t be standing here so awkwardly, waiting for him to enjoy the scene.

”What did I tell you this morning?” James Black’s voice was frosty.

Jane Sampson pursed her lips and petulantly responded, ”Forgot.”

James Black raised an eyebrow, hmm’d, and nodded his head, ”Since you’ve forgotten, you can stay here and think it over by yourself. When you remember, call me to pay the bill for you.”

After dropping those words, James Black turned to leave, and Jane Sampson’s backbone was killed in one second by his statement.

”No, no, no! I remember now! I swear, it’s really the last time, and I won’t eat ice cream again during special times! I swear, if I break my word again, may I lose 20 pounds in a month!” Jane Sampson clung to James Black’s hand and refused to let go, her little face showing a pitiful expression: ”Moreover, I only had two small bites, really, just two bites to satisfy the craving, and I gave the rest to the Great General!”

Hearing Jane Sampson calling it, the Great General next to her wagged its tail and barked twice towards Jane Sampson.

Jane Sampson quickly added: ”Listen, the Great General admitted it, it barked twice.”

The Great General at this moment was probably feeling like — ????

”Do you know what you did wrong?” James Black looked at the face pressed against his arm, his voice softening a bit, ”Three strikes and you’re out. If I find out there’s a next time, do you know what the consequences will be?”

”I know,” Jane Sampson replied while stealthily thinking that at this time, even if she didn’t know, she would have to say she did.

”Also, don’t bring up divorce so casually in the future,” James Black added. Then he said, ”Let go.”

Seeing Jane Sampson looking up at him without moving, still tightly holding on to him like a small hamster wary of having its food snatched away, James Black rubbed his eyebrows, his voice a touch exasperated, ”If you don’t let go, how can I retrieve my wallet?”

Jane Sampson laughed dryly and immediately released James Black, her face ingratiating like that of a young eunuch serving the old Emperor.
