CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 23: Chapter 31: Don’t be too happy too soon

But this was a gamble.

Jane Sampson, in fact, had excellent conditions as she was beautiful. As long as Jane herself was not foolish, it wouldn’t be difficult for Rock Bell to promote someone like Jane with the connections and resources she had.

Not to mention making money, just the status of Jane Sampson as James Black’s wife...

And Rock Bell could tell that Jane truly wanted to be an actor, or else Nina Rice wouldn’t have personally made the call. Out of respect for Buddha, if not the monk, there was also her cousin Nina’s relationship to consider.

Rock Bell understood what Jane meant by not relying on the Black Family. A hidden marriage in the circle, concealing her identity, and the Black Family would not provide any help. ”How about this?” Seeing Jane looking at her blankly, waiting for her answer, Rock Bell didn’t make Jane wait any longer and spoke again, ”The company just has a newcomer training class for two months. You can join that. If there’s no issue with the Black Family when the training is over, we’ll sign the contract.”

Jane was stunned for a few seconds, and when she came to, she was almost jumping for joy, ”I got it, Sister Tin! Thank you, Sister Tin!”

”Don’t be too happy too soon,” Rock Bell couldn’t bear to burst Jane’s bubble. In her view, the likelihood of the Black Family agreeing was very slim.

Having gotten the class schedule, Jane left Star River Entertainment happily, with Rock Bell’s concerns seemed completely insignificant to her.

Jane was also very fortunate. The new training class at Star River Entertainment was starting just two days later. Jane shared this good news with Nina and specifically instructed her not to tell Peter Gingery.

Peter Gingery was a blabbermouth, and he was one of James Black’s soldiers, always around James. Jane worried that if Peter found out, he might go tell James, which would certainly kill her plans in their infancy.

If James wanted to stop her from doing something, forget about a divorce; he had plenty of ways to obstruct her. So when James knew about this mattered to whether she would be able to smoothly carry out her plans.

Jane felt that since James had left just this morning and, according to his usual habits, it was very unlikely he’d be home for the next three to five months. By then, whether he would find out was still a question. Even if he did, she’d have already signed the contract, and she could just claim that James had told her to pursue what she wanted to do.

After leaving Star River Entertainment, Jane happened to encounter the noon rush hour. Her car got stuck on the road, and you can imagine her mood when she received a call from Mother Sampton at this time.

Mother Sampton was calling to ask Jane to come home for lunch. She knew that when James came home, he’d usually stay just a night, so she figured James should have returned to the Solar Planet Guardians by now.

”Bright is still at home. You left in a rush with James last night, and we as a family haven’t had a chance to gather properly,” Mother Sampton’s tone on the phone could even be considered tender, ”James has gone back to the Solar Planet Guardians, right? It’s dreary for you to eat alone at home, and since it’s not far, it’s convenient for you to drive back.”

Jane hummed in response, agreeing to come. But after hanging up the phone, a hint of mockery inevitably lingered at the corners of her mouth.

Traffic was jammed until 12:30, and by the time Jane reached the Sampton family home, it was already past one o’clock, well beyond the lunch hour.
