I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 1224: Chapter 1223: This Is the Only Way

Fu Xuan Ge intended to take a detour, but upon hearing Luo Yirui’s words, he realized Luo was right. The delay of over twenty minutes might introduce many more risks and could cause someone to face death once more.

Little Fatty leaned against the wall, still somewhat unable to recover. His legs felt weak, everything he saw was red, and even his heart seemed to be trembling. He knew it would be a long time before he could sleep well again.

Luo Yirui observed everyone’s condition and acknowledged that Fu Xuan Ge was correct. Given the circumstances, the best course was to detour, considering the psychological resilience of the others might not be as strong as theirs. Even they were in this state, so it was even more so for the others.

After discussing among themselves, the four ultimately decided to detour. In such situations, the fewer people who see it, the better.

Anyway, the goal of depleting the Vertical Pupil had been achieved, and the first building was currently safe. The four decided to immediately return to their hiding place and convey their decision.

The other teenagers all agreed there was no problem. The group made their way through the second building, returning to the first building, successfully descending to the first floor, and leaving this cluster of three research buildings.

This process went smoothly, and Little Fatty breathed a sigh of relief. In truth, he didn’t want to enter the third building. The corpses lying around were bad enough, but what about that eerie person who appeared?

That person was mysteriously elusive, definitely more terrifying than the Vertical Pupil. How could anyone possibly come and go freely among the Vertical Pupil? With this thought, Little Fatty suddenly wondered whether the quick depletion of the numerous Vertical Pupils was related to that person.

Outside, the night was deep. As they passed the first building, they found some clothes for Jia Xiaoyu and the others, which belonged to the people here. They were, of course, ill-fitting, but better than being naked. The temperature outside was too low.

Even so, the current night was still terribly cold, causing all the teenagers to shiver nonstop.

Luo Yirui thought about the map; the fourth exit was in the northeast direction. Over there was a dense cluster of buildings, likely interconnected, and very close to where the battle occurred. This increased their level of danger.

Their group of over a dozen was too conspicuous. Luo Yirui suggested splitting into separate actions, but everyone surprisingly expressed a desire to be on his team.

Luo Yirui scratched his head, feeling somewhat embarrassed. In fact, he lacked the ability to protect them; his thoughts and ideas were merely more numerous and considered more thoroughly at times.

The current situation was different from inside the research buildings. Moving as such a large group was essentially acting as live targets. They not only needed to scatter but divide into at least three or four smaller teams.

”This time, our main goal is to get into the buildings over there, not to confront any enemies. As long as we avoid the adults, the difficulty is relatively much easier,” Luo Yirui explained.

Fu Xuan Ge nodded. ”Since the Nie Family and some people have started fighting, it suggests at least one is targeting the Nie Family. Even if we run into them, they might not necessarily harm us. Splitting up is the best course of action.”

Through the consistent persuasion from the two, the teenagers understood the current situation. Luo Yirui, Fu Xuan Ge, and Jia Xiaoyu each led three teams, with each team having five or six people. They individually disappeared into the night.

After their departure, a person stood within the shadows, almost blending into the darkness. Silently, he watched the backs of the disappearing teenagers, then slowly turned to leave.
