I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 1148: Chapter 1147: The Nie Family Is Not Qualified Yet

The situation outside is something everyone here is concerned about. Beisitian hasn’t been in a hurry because of her inability to contact the outside world. It’s certain that Luo Xudong has been keeping in touch with the outside world, since, in this aspect, no one is more professional than him and his people.

”The situation with the modern families isn’t looking great. Quite a few medium-sized families and sects have directly chosen to submit to the Nie Family, and after the Nie Family controlled the upper levels of some major sects, they also had no choice but to succumb, becoming their subordinate families. It seems they are even secondary subordinates? I’m not too familiar with this.”

The so-called secondary subordinates are basically those families that aren’t highly regarded. They become the subordinate families of the Nie Family’s subordinate families, adding a layer in between, and their treatment varies.

”There are still some who would rather die than submit. The high level members have all died for various ’legitimate’ reasons or have disappeared. There are already three families affected by foul play, one of which has become a secondary subordinate family, while one of the remaining two is nearly annihilated, its sect entirely scattered.”

Scattered... This inevitably reminded Beisitian of the Bei Family. It is said that the Bei Family was directly scattered at that time, with family members wandering everywhere, many eventually losing contact, and disappearing from each other’s lives.

”No one is stopping them?” Beisitian asked.

You Hong’an replied, ”The Eagle Eye Team is already overwhelmed with tasks, but it is evident that the Nie Family had long been prepared. They had established many connections beforehand, even with some in the military, and they leave no evidence behind in their actions. Even though the Eagle Eye Team is composed of elites, their numbers are limited, and they have yet to catch any mistake from the other side.”

Those three family sects, the ones that became secondary subordinate families, naturally claimed that it was voluntary. The one that got scattered, the people inside might not even know what happened, possibly unaware of their opponent’s identity, only knowing it was the work of an ancient family.

Even if someone complains or accuses them, there is no concrete evidence to be found. If it is said that the Nie Family committed murder, there is no murder evidence. Those missing people are not directly related to the Nie Family. If it is said the Nie Family seized the resources and power of other families and sects, how could this be governed? It’s like a brand acquiring another brand; as long as the procedures are compliant, any complaints and discontent during the process are futile.

With just those two sentences, Beisitian basically understood. It was just like that time in Luocheng. She was chasing the Nie Family then, but the Nie Family did nothing besides moving around. They were merely establishing various connections at that time, never expecting such a large-scale action from them.

”What about the small courtyard?” Beisitian asked.

This was actually what she was most concerned about, but judging from his demeanor, there were surely no issues; she just wanted to hear it for herself.

You Hong’an’s lips curled up, ”The Nie Family is not qualified enough to make any moves in Beijing.”

He spoke lightly, but his tone revealed immense confidence, which instantly reassured Beisitian.

Beijing is being guarded like a fortress, reflecting years of effort put in by her and him, and not in vain did the old master meticulously manage these trivial matters, taking precautions before anything happened. From the moment they sensed something was amiss, Beisitian and Luo Xudong started preparing, which is why they can now feel at ease.

”If we can find trusted allies to form alliances, that would be ideal, although we know the Mo Family has issues, without evidence, no one would believe mere speculation.” You Hong’an said.
